How many here drain their oil from the sump and the oil cooler, or one or the other?
I can't comment from experience as mine was a complete strip down, but I'm not sure there would be any benefit from draining the cooler also as it naturally drains back to the sump from the bottom hose.
Since the sump holds a bit more than my drain pan, I now warm motor a bit and pump most of the oil out the dip stick hole and drain the last few liters from the sump. I bought pump for my boat and it has proved handy for oil changes and other cars too. Ken
