I never understood it and never will, the matte finish looks, well unfinished. Reminds me of high school when everyone would primer their car yet never get around to having it painted.

I hate to say this, but the Marlboro livery seen on the McLaren looked the best ever for me.

It was a glorious era too.

I'm hoping matte finishes and dark wheels are a fad that has run it's course.

+1 good comparison--or maybe not. 109s used Daimler-Benz engines no? Let's not go there.

Very nice representation. It points out quite precisely how they're down to the last flea's eyelash of aero....

I found the haas livery uninspiring...it’s like a bad knockoff of the johnnie walker lotus. Lettuce must be like, “oh look I’m back w lotus again!” even their bloody drawers are pretty much the same.

I'd call it a good knock off of the old Lotus look. And it is now a very handsome car and I wish them good luck fighting for the 4th top spot and some podiums. It sure beats painting a car pink.

more W10 teasers. I don't know what to make of this but the whole rim and tire???? really??? This really has be for "media" livery. I'm sure they will go back to the silver and black come testing.

I will say this, those rims are definitely making a comeback.

The whole rims thing is another example of needless F1 expense. They should be a standardised design, same for everyone.

The front wing lowers in the nose area then rises up at the end plates.....like the 2008 front wing but this is more subtle.

    Scarbs breaks it down..........

the sidepod top surface rolls over to direct airflow under the Coke bottle shape, very Newey-esque , pushing more air pressure over the diffuser.

But it is my understanding that a flat/matte finish is actually more draggy than a smooth, glossy finish. I would think that a matte finish is the LAST thing you would want on a race car!

Actually, a matte finish in an F1 car, of the likes of RedBull, help with the aero....like the dimples of a golf ball. This in no way is the same matte finish on a production car. They can "tailor" certain aspects of the matte finish to coincide with how the aero works on certain parts of the car.

It's different....that's for sure. They could've hired Sean Bull designs for the livery instead of this.

    But what do I know.
