Check on Rennlist. I believe there is a fellow on there in Long Island.

If you can make it to Westchester I can't recommend Cheech at Rennwerke highly enough.
Have sent a number of Porsche buddies over there with terrific results.
Right off the Cross Westchester in Elmsford.

As above, check Rennlist o help locate quality locals.

    "stiff gas pedal, "
Unless it has changed since you have owned it, this is often a 928 "feature." But make sure the cable isn't frayed - unhook it from the cross at the front of the engine and see how it feels when actuated by hand.

"ac fan knob not working but a/c works and heat works when you slide it to defrost..but only fan is on high.."
you might have magic-fan syndrome. That's usually the fan resisitor.

"I feel doesn't down shift as it should"
the kickdown cable likely needs adjustment.

These should all be easy things for a 928 knoweldgeable wrench, or for a do-it-yourselfer if you so desire.

Best luck and enjoy that '85!

Yeah, that's a LONG damn cable from pedal to throttle. My '83 was reasonably smooth, but my '87 S4 was pretty stiff. Lubricating the pulley up under/near the air filter box helped quite a bit.
