Not trying to be Captian Obvious here, but doing an oil change on my 355 with the Quickjack lift makes a world of difference. I picked It up on the $999 Costco sale.

So much easier on the body when you can roll around on a creeper and not have to deal with floor jacks and jack stands.

For those with limited space in their garage or limited budget, i highlt reccommend. Image Unavailable, Please Login

I can't really say they were ideal for me. It depends on how limited the space is. Looks like you have lots of space. I live in an apartment complex with a small garage.

Here are some of the problems I had:
The jacks are heavy and hard to position in a really narrow garage (especially if you have the longer, heavier duty jacks which seem to come close to the tyres). You have to be sure the jacks are facing the right way and also which side the locking bars are on. When you push the jacks into position, you're basically scraping the paint off them.
The hoses are hard to run under the centre of the car (and the hydraulic fittings get dirty dragging them along the floor).
It's not immediately obvious how you're supposed to thread the hoses through the jack frame prior to lifting the car.
I couldn't find the right combination of rubber blocks to sit on top of the jack... I had to create some mini ramps to drive onto to get the correct clearance (you're not supposed to start lifting the car with the ramps close to fully down).
I found the rubber blocks tend to touch the plastic underbody panels next to the sills. I was afraid of cracking the panels.
I can only back my car into my garage (because of limited manoeuvering space). By the time I have positioned and raised the ramps, the engine oil has already cooled down. I can't start the car on the ramps as it would fill up the garage with fumes and it would be too noisy for the neighbours.

I can't say I've saved any money by buying them versus 5 or so services at my nearest Ferrari specialist (However, I guess it helps to keep the mileage down if you're far from specialists).

I can see if you have a small garage or live in an apartment that this may not be that great. In my case, i have a standard 2 car garage (about 20 x 24 feet). Its tight when have both cars inside but workable. Better when only one is in the garage but in either case, much easier than jack stands.

$1000 isn't a limited budget when a $100 Jack and $50 stands will do the jib

The U$999 sounds like a bargain. Here in Australia, the price is U$1,780 (A$2,490.00) for the BL-5000SLX

Hi there, what model did you purchase and how was the clearance using it on the 355?

You obviously don’t shop at harbor freight

You could get two jacks and four stands for that kinda money.

I operate two floor jacks for the 456. Roll in and out easy and the stands slide in and out easy as well. I can also redeploy in the garage or driveway in seconds.

I use both stands and jack together for safety.

Short of a full sized lift floor jacks and stands are hard to beat.

Correct, as I live in Canada.

I don’t regret to inform you that there is life outside of US borders, as difficult as that may be to believe.

Whoa there, I am sure the 99.8% of the non-luxury-car-owning canadian population greatly enjoys the benefits afforded by their more equitable society. As for remaining 0.2% a higher tax rate is a small price to pay for a more just and unified citizens body.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Gst is 5% and Provincial tax is 0 so our tax is less that Texas I guess.
Alberta is not very socialistic but as all coutries we have a few californias here as well i guess.

Many people who calculate in US forget to reduce the Canadian price by 35 percent.
As Canadians we do as well. Things all ways seem like they cost less down south but add in their taxes and currency exchange and we are generally pretty close.

I live in both and their is good and bad for each.

Just like working, its not all ways greener onthe other side but it seems like it is. I am as guilty as all and atleast admit it.

That’s right. Forgot about the currency. 13% is not bad. I do a lot of tax work up in canada. My employer has substantial operations in Alberta.

Here in Sweden we have GST rate or VAT 25% makes everything superexpensive, you got to hate socialism, government takes everything, i pay about 35% income tax and then some additional % depending on what part of the country you live in, but if you earn above a certain income/year you pay more, even up to 60% income tax.
