I just took in a 1993 348 TS as a px to sell my 355 Spider, wasn't looking for another Ferrari as needed the garage space for my Testarossa Spider project. However my first ever Ferrari almost 20 years ago was a 348 Spider (hence my chat name) so I have a few fond memories and thought .... well why not !!

Started to do a light restoration on the car as its been a little neglected over the years and with some elbow grease I can make this 348 loved again. Its not going to be a major nut a bolt strip down restoration, just improving, replacing broken bits, fixing stuff that's not working and giving the 348 a dam good clean up.

Will video the progress on the project, first one is just uploaded.

Sorry Fellas a little bit boring this one today, its all about stripping down the engine and removing the plenum chamber (but handy if you want to do something similar)

Nice car nice example. Looks like your front wheels are reversed in the first video. Also looks like maybe the radio cover has been recovered or is missing the emblem?

Thanks and well spotted, I need to swap those around as soon as I get some space.
As for the radio emblem, I didn't know this but only the US cars were lucky and got the 348 badge on the radio cover. The Euro cars came with nothing.

Love the videos! You've inspired me to refinish my plenum but I think I'm only going to do the top portion as the bottom section is in quite good condition.... and that's a lot of stuff to disconnect! Did you ever make any videos after the 308 episode 13? I wanted to see what was causing the timing gear noise / problem.

Hey Matt, pleased you are enjoying the videos and its inspired you to do some similar work. Thats the idea of the channel, to show with a bit of time and patience what can be done and look great at the end.

Regarding the 308 project, I'm just getting the list of parts together and mainly the special tools to dig a bit deeper. i'm off to Ferrari tomorrow to collect some of the bearings and clips etc, so fingers crossed the issue can be rectified with the engine still in the car. Its due to snow here again the next few days but hopefully nothing major to stop progress.

Great drive out. Enjoyed that, and exactly why I love mine. The retro feel, and like a big go cart :) My windows stuck to, but at least in closed position.

Because the difference isn’t just the emblem and square radio cover. The entire underdash is different. Cars that didn’t get this larger under dash (anti-submarining DOT law in the US), got the normal angled radio cover like cars that had the normal dash. (cars without mousetrap seatbelts). That’s the big difference.

Next time you look at a euro/cdn car, vs a US car, notice the size of the underdash bolster area.

    Example:
