Yep. It’s the length of that little “shelf” under the dash. The start of the “other color” on the 348 dash. In the example, where the red or the tan starts.

Scott, I had the same issue with the mirrors, it was the switch. Simple replacement, you just pull the three switch grouping out and you unsnape the switch. The problem is finding a new switch, they have been gone from parts for a long time. I was able to find one on EBay but of course it was not cheap. Interesting tidbit, the switch is shared with one other vehicle, the F40 :). I never did get into the inside of the switch so mught want to explore the contacts inside. Good luck, I enjoy your vids.

Yey FChat! My window switch is fine but I searched found the xref part numbers and found a new one on ebay from an alpha #60529884. Bought it just in case a bit of future proofing.

    You can get them here.

Good to know, I think I will take a look inside and see if I can resolve it. Price is high already without it being shared with an F40 :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Yep, Alfa Romeo 75 (Milano in the US) mirror switch. Also used in the Series 4 Spider (91-94). My Milano is a 3 liter Verde so the mirror switch is the same but the arrows and the dot are orange instead of white.

Interestingly enough the dash vents are also from a Milano. (only the moveable part)

Good news to say the least. I had to give $125 for the one I found but of course I got the pretty yellow box with a black horse on it. :)

Still Loving the channel and the videos. I had similar problem with my mirrors... it was actually broken wires inside of the multi pin round door connector. You literally just pull the rubber back and I found wires that were completely severed. Lots of write-ups on this you can buy the pins and extractor tool on eBay Tyco. I was able to meticulously drill mine out resolder in a jumper wire And re crimp. Others not so easy you've got to Ohm out each pin connector poke a hole in each wire few inches back to determine which ones are faulty

Don't you just do all the pins when in there fixing 1 or 2? While the patient is open and all that.

I think most folks do but I chose not to. There are A LOT OF PINS and a lot of room to get wires crossed so I just chose to repair just the two Broken ones... one was affecting the window one was affecting the mirrors. Some guys opt to do away with the pin connector completely rewire with crimps which I think is Ludicrous. Think about it these connectors have lasted 25 or more years that's really not that bad. My Mercedes S550 recently had a wire go bad in the door Loom affecting my right side mirror...things don't last a lifetime nor should they ever be expected to. Just my thoughts.

Finally got some time to film another Episode on the 348 Project.

I gave the car a full annual service and thought it would be handy to share the process.

Scott thanks for the video on cleaning and regressing the window rails. I had actually made the hard wire update on the drivers door due the broken pin connectors several years ago, but didn’t clean and re grease the rails. Wow what a huge difference, it goes up and down much faster. Going to do the passenger window next. Thanks again!

Most welcome, let us know how you get on.

It's quite a quick and easy process, you should be able to have it apart, re greased and back together well within half an hour.

The most important tidbit is that you get to it from the OUTSIDE of the door. I don't know if I realized they were constructed that way.

    Thanks for the vids!
