Hi Guys, I drove the car yesterday it drove amazingly. The cars car fax has the registration history with miles reported. The ppi was all well. There was an oil leak that i had spotted. Below are the pics of the leak, let me know your thoughts. He did mention that the car has now been driven around and there fore the oil was leaking due the the gasket been brittle from just sitting. He also mentioned something about a single disc clutch vs a double, mine has a double disc clutch, is that a good thing? The interior is in great shape.

Yeah they drive great. I have the dual disk some say it heavy, my wife drives it and shes 5'4 its no where near the heaviest clutch I have owned. It is quite easy in my opinion. The main issue it it costs more when replacing really compared to single.

Underside suspension looks clean, not in a been prepped and painted for selling way, clean as in clean car good shape.

Where we looking for the leak?

Btw Lambo's are nice no doubt but the thing is they are still NOT Ferrari's. Even a classic ferrari. Guys in Gallardo's pull up to a 348/355 and go "damn"... Ya it's "nicer" more expensive and faster but its still NOT a Ferrari..

    Few key forum links.

    348 Do-It-Yourself threads: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/405946-348-do-yourself-threads.html
    348 parts sourcing, interchange?: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/50339-348-parts-sourcing-interchange.html

First mod to do is the hvac bullet fuse. Crimp new bullet fuse in line, no experience needed, just a crimp tool and audio fuse. Also check if the AC recirc flap closes also shown in the link below. Both take no mechanical expertise to do.

Ask the folks who did the major if they still have the clutch inspection cover. Item #8 here:

    https://www.ricambiamerica.com/car-diagrams/ferrari/v6-v8/348-group/348-1989-1992/clutch-controls.html

Mine was damaged earlier so I replaced it with the new one.

LOL! Don Johnson, that’s awesome! It was great chatting to you earlier. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Your car looks gorgeous, it looked familiar then I remembered watching a YouTube video featuring your car. I’m assuming it was a dealer promo video. If I purchase it I’ll be sure to get spacers but I was also watched this video (see below) and this Gentleman from Japan had 360 rims on his 348, couldn’t help drooling at the offsets, just perfect.

many threads on wheels. check it out with
search. 355 wheels fit better than 360 if u spend time looking unless u machine the 360 offset. I have something special wheelwise in plan.

I have read more than fifty 348 carfaxes (actualy autocheck, I found the information better) and I have seen some odd ones you can really get a sense for example identifying a dealer car unregistered for years on end and selling between dealers or auctions when cross ref vin with internet searches, no doubt driven hard with dealer plates and not maintained and spedo disconnected only to reappers with registration and noio mileage changes for 7 years.

I have seen clear mileage issues and various traceability issues or gaps or oddities several duplicate titles etc and also a few flawless ones but this carfax is downright strange Does not imply anything nefarious. Titles back and forth between Fl and Oh, how strange. I suspect someone out here can explain it though. No accident history so that's good. Also constant activity and registration so it did not fall off the planet for a decade only to emerge with no mileage after an alien abduction or something.

Looks like SAME dealers too back and forth too, including same Chevy dealer a few times.

    Hi gents,
Here are the compression test results. Please let me know your thoughts.

    #1- 160
    #2- 154
    #3-160
    #4-162
    #5-160
    #6-162
    #7-150
    #8-168

If these are low or an issue can these be remedied on my next major if I bought it. Thanks

Good luck in your quest. Remember buy on condition not mileage or history. Most carfax with old cars have oddities and typos from dmv etc.

Compression numbers are consistent across cylinders which is the key. I have seen cars out here with compression in the 150's, cars in 190's and cars over 200's on all cylinders. The key is consistency as temps and what not can affect the actual number.

Just got mine off stands today and took it for a spin around the block, god I can't wait for spring....

Anyone else have comments for prospective brother?

Ferrari conceded there was room for improvement. Last year [1992] the company swapped shocks and springs, modified the rear-suspension geometry, and made camber and toe changes, all intended to improve the ride and handling at all speeds.
