Hello, i did get my Pista last week and have almost 300 km on it. first impressions are wow...especially the gear changes in Race-mode. My dealer said that there is no "breaking-in "needed for the car. Just make that the engine oil is at temperature. I have already done some spirited driving with some revs to 7000... What do you guys think? Should I calm down or keeping up the spirited drive ( after warm engine oil and also letting the car at idle for one minute before shutting it down). thanks
I'm jealous but still elated with my new 2019 488 spider and was told by dealer to just drive it and not worry but owners manual does recommend a break-in period which I'm also inclined to abide by. Hard to wait but not worth the risk
Let’s see. Who do you think knows more about the car the salesperson at the dealership or the company that built the car? They have recommendations in the manual for a reason.
I didn’t actually see anything in the owners manual about break in / run in procedures. Did I miss it?
I think all turbos benefit from a cool down after a load?? Nothing in there about an early oil change or anything? It's a new motor but has seen Factory road testing. Oil analysis is a handy tool too
