I just brought my 13 Spyder and I’m have two questions. Where do I plug in the trickle charger? What type exhaust/remote control is this? I’ll post a few pictures when I get a chance. First F car and looking forward to the experience. Thx! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
trickle charger plugs under the glove box on passenger side, always plug in when not using. that is a valve remote hit 1 to turn on and 2 to turn off. keeps.the valves open at all rpm's. I have the same one. enjoy it is a great car Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk
From another new owner where do you run the trickle charger out on the passenger door? Book says be careful to not damage door seal. Picture in book shows running it out in front part of door. I had mine running out door but looks sort of crimped now. Have been running it out the window. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Thx Benny I looked by the battery but didn’t see where to connect it. Is it a mounted connector or loose/not mounted to anything? Is the remote factory or after market?
Page 200 in the owner's manual. The socket is under the glove box over toward the passenger door, not in the battery compartment. It's directly under the door side dashboard air vent and the silver plaque attached to the lower dash. I also run the cord out the forward part of the window and use a towel to seal the gap to the interior....it's pollen season. The 488's mount by the rear license plate is a much better idea. The remote is aftermarket.
The remote is a Capristo exhaust valve controller, and it's aftermarket. You push 1 for it to be the same as stock, and 2 for the exhaust valves to stay open all the time. The car will default to the stock position when you initially start the car. If you want the car to default with the valves open when started, you push buttons 3 and 4 simultaneously while the valves are open (according to the manual I read, haven't tried it).
The wire for the charger should be passed out of the car at the most forward part of the underside of the passenger door. My 2015 has a small gap in the rubber moulding there that allows the wire free play without resistance.
This is the current version of the exhaust controller you probably have installed back there. I think the manual is on this link also: https://capristoexhaust.com/product/standard-remote-control-kit-oem-capristo/ Ray
