The grille looks a lot like Pontiac's 1961 fill size car grille motif. Which car was done first? I know Mitchell, Jordn, et al went to the European auto shows every year but the soonest they could have seen the one off Ferrari was 1962. Or maybe Bertone, anxious for an assignment, too them through his studio when that concept was still being hammered out?

    Thanks for any clues...

Sharknose F1 was done in late 1960 early 1961 by the factory race team. To bad this Bertone had a sharknose. After the fiasco with most of the team leaving there was little chance Enzo would want a reminder of those F1 cars. He even scrapped them all. So I think the sharknose Ferrari's had nothing to do with Pontiac, but you never know as American influence was very strong back then at Ferrari both for styling and engine size.

Google Sacha Gordine F1, I explained this in a Cavallino article many years ago: Sacha Gordine, Fantuzzi late Maserati 250F nose, then on to early Ferrari mid engined sports prototype noses, later readopted for the 360 Modena road car and its later replacements.

I saw that Moretti on instagram today, it is uncannily similar to the Bertone SWB
