<= 40K€. It’s a dated platform. They must not go higher than McL with the 720S, which is close to 260K€, should rather stay lower even. Otherwise they‘d perhaps be losing market share at this particular place.

Need a little help ... what do the FL and BB represent? I figured out the 812 Spider Reference, that was easy. ;)

Those in the know are saying this will be a 488 Face Lift (FL) but there will be a new model above the 488 (Big Brother or BB) just nicknames to help avoid confusion when talking about the rumors.

Correct. FL is the "facelifted" version of the 488 GTB, which will be unveiled in Geneva (online reveal is set for next Monday, Feb 25th).
"BB" is a new whole car above the usual mid-engined V8 slot. Built on the new platform, powered by a hybrid powertrain (twin turbo V8 + electric juice), to be unveiled in May (where is still up to speculation).

Actually to protect the Pista they should price the new car significantly lower, to keep the exclusivity feeling for the Pista owners...

The FL's brief run might actually make it a rare and sought after car, you just never know. They'll want to sell a significant number of them to pay for the tooling, so I doubt it will be as much as the Pista. Probably just marginally more than the 488.

Why would you by a $300K+ car knowing it will be completely revamped from the ground up in a couple years? There's nothing exclusive about it either, whereby anyone who wants one can get one.

Well, it may be worth it to someone who loves how it looks and doesn't care about the upcoming hybrid models.

Maybe that price point is workable for certain people, and they know the BB will be out of their reach financially. We do know from reliable sources that the MSRP on the BB is going to be much higher than the current cars & the FL.

If you really like it, you want it.
I don't believe that there are only investors who are always afraid about what's coming next, and no customers that buy the cars they like and want to enjoy.
(What's the point in buying any new ferrari if you were thinking only about future market value and that the next model will be better or a better investment. There are still people who love their 348-s,360-s,430-s, 550 Maranello-s :) they bought.)

This FL is said to be the last Ferrari V8 under $500K. That's a reason to buy now.

The reason someone would buy a facelift is the same reason someone would buy a new anything. Some people just believe in buying new cars, even if it doesn't make much sense, and they aren't really car people.

Someone finally gets a big payday or has enough money to buy a Ferrari, and then go out and buy one. They don't know anything about cars, they don't follow car news, they don't post on forums. They just know they want to Ferrari and they decide to buy one.

Well-informed enthusiasts don't make up as much of the market as people often think. Lots of random, know-nothing people buy exotic cars every day.

You think the Migos or some big contract 20 year old sports star cares? Nope. They want a new exotic now, not in 18 months.

Let them or anyone else unsuspecting take the depreciation hit. If it looks awesome, runs amazing, I will buy it on the down curve.

So I suppose someone buying the new FL model simply because they actually like the car and don't want to blow $500K+ on a BB model makes them not "know anything about cars", "don't follow car news", and "know-nothing" types?? Or "it doesn't make sense"?? It makes sense if they like the car. Is there anything more needed? Wait around for a $500k+ BB??

    Gimme a break...sheesh

    So true.

I was silly enough to buy a Cali-T just the way my wife and I wanted it to be and just for the simple reason that we/she loved it. A silly reason to buy a new car I know.

And what is worse, we spec’d our 812 exactly as we wanted and just finished our Portofino spec. Spending disposable income on things we enjoy is crazy stupid, I know.

Furthermore, I’m considering the Facelift if it really captures my heart because I like the 488 and am unsure I want to cough up the extra dough for the BB.

Yes, I am a moronic non car guy...

    ;)

I think we are all in for some BIG BIG changes in Ferrari land ! They are finally getting serious with the competition. I’m excited to see what transpires over the next 24 months. I highly doubt the real 488 replacement will start at 500k. The car will be in the 350-400 range. Ferrari needs a v8 hybrid or something to compete in that price range. The BB is a different story and will likely be in the 700-800k range.

Why would the FL be so much more expensive than the current model? How much was the price jump 360 to 430, 430 to 458, 458 to 488... I’d imagine it’d be somewhere in line with that?
