I'm just catching up on your posts, but why remove spare wheel liner? You can do the rack and suspension work without removing it. I'm actually in the middle of similar work on my 328 and didn't remove the liner. It's a PITA with it in the way tho, but doable.
True. It's a lot faster and easier without, though. Also gives you better access to a few other things.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Hi. Primary reason for removal was to have better access. Agree that most tasks can be done with it in place, but oh wow how much access you have with it gone. Would love to take credit for the idea but I first came across it from following David’s website. Hence all the questions on how to do it. Have some friends up at the house in the last few days so I borrowed two of them and removed the front lid. Even more access now ! I look forward to working on this more, but not sure when The next opportunity will be.
My 81 also “glued” in I suspect it was a mastik type that had hardened over 37 odd years. To remove mine I drilled the rivets the carefully worked around with a blade cutting through the sealant/adhesive Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
What year? Maybe they changed during production. Mine was definitely resin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks. From what I’ve seen of the factory photos at that time, there was a big difference in 308 production techniques between my car in 78 and 85 so could be that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Image Unavailable, Please Login Very easy access to where the brake lines meet the hard lines. I also inspected the hard lines and they seem in pretty good shape.
First, what is the grey stuff to the right of the brake line pic? Second, isn't using that much light cheating? ;-)
Image Unavailable, Please Login Quick side project. My passenger side marker lamp has been broken for ages. The light works but as you can see the plastic think is broke. I’ve had a new one for ages so thought I would deal with that.
Never enough light brother. I’m getting old and the eyes are going..... The gray stuff looks bad on the picture. Uggh. That is the “glue” that was holding the spare wheel tub. I’m confident I can get it off. Just haven’t bothered yet.....
Thanks thorn. Hadn’t got that far yet but scotch disc sounds like a good plan. I did clean up the general area a bit (and have pictures of that, which I wasn’t going to post but will now !)

Image Unavailable, Please Login Not clear why the previous post had 2 pictures. Anyway this is what it looks like without
Image Unavailable, Please Login Right. Here is a picture when I just got the little vacuum out to try and clean the mess from cutting out the tub. If yuh look top left (where the disconnected brake hard line is) you can see the “grey” glue remains.
