Exactly, but some of us are serious and dedicated 355 owners ;)
We are not afraid to spend the big bucks on specialized equipment to maintain our cars properly.

I know right? Somewhere someone is gripping about the maintenance costs of these cars and running away with their hair on fire telling the world!!!

Us? We're stuffing used paint stirrers in the coolant tank.

    hahahahahaha

How do you get the red and green lines to stay on your skin.

I'm so dedicated to my 355s I have those lines tattooed on my finger so that all I do is stick my finger in the hole.

I believe the manual states the level is supposed to be 6cm below the top of the filler neck. That was the level I always set to for 10 years...worked fine. Early in ownership I overfilled and it would spit excess until it reach an equilibrium of sorts. That is when I checked the manual for proper level. Oh and yes the caps suck and I replaced them a couple times...usually because they would start leaking around the overflow piece on the center top of the cap, just looked bad, but the cap held pressure. After I got my Scud I bought a couple oem spares from the classifieds here (same as used on the F355), they were cheap. Surprisingly, I haven't needed them yet, and had the car for 4 years. Go figure ;)

Drove to the dealer today, got a new cooling tank cap ;)
Surprised and shocked $64.58 what a steal, will get that put on in a day or two.
Priced out some other parts/services, also surprised mostly reasonable.

$65 is reasonable for a plastic cap? You are their kind of customer.

I think if you measure Mitchells finger the measurements you state corresponds to his tattoo’s.

    Has anyone sourced these.
I bought a pressure tester and i believe it says sabb and fiat models use same caps.
I will check and quote later.
Maybe someone can find a cheaper one.

Someone in the for sale section had a thousand of those made up and he was selling them for fifteen bucks each. Still had some, I think. Rifledriver bought a boxful from him. I bought a couple.

2 years ago I priced one of these rubber pieces at the dealer;)
It was over $60, I also got to drive the Ferrari to pick up the cap.
I also priced some other services at the dealer.
Looking forward to spending a few $1000 there this year.
I am still missing that rubber piece.......lol.
Only EBay purchase I have made in the last 20 years was a couple weeks back ;)
Hats at $33 bucks a pop, screaming deal so I bought 5 of them.

    Whoa.........
    Both are missing ?
If you find a reasonable source at a reasonable cost, Order a couple extra.
I only checked at the dealer 2-3 years ago, I should have asked them again they may be “cheap” now.

The wrong coolant is in your car for one. It should be blue in color. The green stuff is reserved for old cast iron mills.

Secondly, the coolant is over filled. As we all know, stuff expands with heat. Draw down the coolant to the seam line of the expansion tank or just below. Drive and enjoy. Oh please do replace the cap. They are complete rubbish.
