Time for my annual renewal. I have been with Condon Skelley since I had the car (5 years). I have 75K of coverage. Premium has crept up from $750 to now $940.

Anyone else care to share where the insurance market is now for these cars?

I’m at $585 per year (Canadian, so that’s about $400 US) for full coverage 12 months.

A few conditions (no tracking the car, no grocery shopping, to name a few) but none of those conditions would be applicable to me regardless

Geico. As I said, it's an ACV policy (regular car insurance.) Nice thing about it is that I can change the coverage to comp only when the car is put away for the winter. So basically it cost me under $300/yr. Costs about the same for my 308 and my Toyota 2002 truck, more to insure my 014 Cayman S.

That sounds really risky for a 80s/90s Ferrari. I can image that geico would total your car from a fender bender. And without an accepted appraisal or agreed value I'd bet that gieco's payout would be 50% lower than what you'd expect.

In Texas, you invoke the umpire rule and hire a public adjuster. You would probably come out way ahead. Most people do. The SVP is good for mental health with regards to knowing what you get at a loss, but they put limitations on that making owning it less enjoyable.

I can see both ways. My regular insurance carrier will not cover over 20 years old, so I have to use a collector policy.

I've been with Grundy for the past 3 years or so. The annual premium is $719 for a 1992 348tb using an agreed value of $50k. The policy has very few restrictions.

How Can I Use My Car?
Grundy wants you to enjoy your car, not keep track of mileage like some programs with limitations. Therefore, we give you unlimited miles for pleasure driving and in collector car-oriented activities. It is even OK if occasionally you drive your collector car to work to show it off to friends. However, your collector car must not be used as a daily driver. We require you and all licensed drivers in your household to have a modern car for everyday use.

When you have your car at home, it must be kept in an enclosed, secure garage when not in use. If you are away from home on extended outings your car is fully protected if you must park it outside, for example in a hotel parking lot. Grundy coverage includes Trip Interruption that reimburses you for hotel and repair costs in the event of a breakdown, and we also reimburse you for towing and labor charges up to $250. You can count on Grundy as you cruise.

I tried Grundy and when I said I wanted to drive 7500 miles a year or more they said they would not insure it. 5k or less they said.

In CT there are specific laws in place governing how values are determined to prevent insurance companies from arguing with each other and clogging up the courts and to protect consumers from just what you stated. Plus, any policy written in CT, and probably other states as well, has a clause about arbitration. In any even, it's a risk I'll take. The cars just aren't that valuable. And, I have no use restrictions other than under 5k miles a year, well, no track use. LOL.

    FYI,
    95 355 spider, 38k miles, Geico ACV $67k
    97 355 spider, ??? miles, USAA, ACV $75k
    98 355 spider, ??? miles, State Farm, ACV $69k
    97 355 spider, 31k miles, Liberty Mutual, ACV $101k.

These are insurance values from totals over the last 3 years.

    $265 for a whole year on a 348? Doesn't seem possible... but I'm interested!

Well, now we know that the industry thinks 348 are worth. 228.75/703.95 = 0.32495 of the value of a 355. So about 24k on average. :)

Hagerty. $1,084/year for full coverage agreed value policy 5k miles/year.

Easiest thing is to call a broker and let them manage it.

That may be the easiest way but handling it myself with a competing quote (one phone call) saved me $280 or approx 30%
