Why would you expect this to be any more expensive than the 488? They are replacing the 488 and need a car that is roughly the same price. I rarely ever saw 488s near $400K. I expect the F8 to be $300K in nice spec.

Doubtful. Most 488 buyers are not itching to upgrade and the best customers got Pistas. This is barely any different than ordering a late model 488. A little more demand from the gotta have it crowd but otherwise you'll just be competing as you would with late model 488s, or in other words, not much competition.

I like the F8. But then I like the 488 and the 812. I like the fact that they say it is a transition-and the last of this particular run of mid engine V8’s.

Looks interesting. I see a lot of stuff from other cars in it.

The lights now channel air through them and the rear quarter where the "spoiler" meets the body looks like the 720S. The front bumper vanes look like Lamborghini.

Need to see more of it. Interior changes are whatev. Unfortunate the side intake didn't get reworked. Not bad overall. Definitely better value than a Pista IMO.

You can spot some of the latest trends in aero. Notice the sideways-Y shape in the F8, Huracan Evo, and R8 FL.

Was thinking the same thing. Altough, the F8 reminds me more of the FXX K Evo rather han its competitors. Really got those LaFerrari vibes with the air duct going through the hood.

Ferrari is really getting their money's worth out of the original 458 platform by reskinning and repowering. That is essentialy what this and the 488 are. And it's not unusual, as Ferrari has done this is in the past (think 348-355, 360-430, TR to 512TR, etc). What's concerning is that it seems they are now stretching this to at least 3 models - they did it with the Cali-Cali-T-Portofino (all essentially the same car reskinned and repowered). Sure there are more tweaks to suspension and interior, but again, it's not a clean sheet. With all the competition from other manufacturers, Ferrari should have started over. It will also give the in-house designers the opportunity to prove what they are capable of designing rather than just tacking on modifications to an existing design.

In terms of the Pista comments, seems there are many "pista" over not getting allocation. Regardless of performance figures, I don't believe this car will affect the trajectory of Pista values too far. (think TDF-812 - did the 812 kill TDF values? No) - Full disclosure- I have a Pista coming and I'm not planning on cancelling it. The Pista is still an SE, and will maintain a premium. I believe this car will go the way the 488 did - a relatively short window of premiums as compared to previous models and years. Pista will maintain a premium far longer.

I think it looks much better than the 488, but I would have preferred seeing an all new design instead of a reskinned reskin.

First Ferrari V8 in a long time that's got a properly resolved front end. Very nice, indeed. Not so keen on the back end, though.

I personally have been on the fence on whether to take a lightly used 488GTB until this came out. Glad I waited. The F8 looks fantastic. The primary detractor is that its going to be priced initially more than a 720s but its slower than a 720s. The Pista is slower, so the F8 with an extra 50kg over the pista is going to continue to lag behind McLaren.

There is none. Americans just think that everything looks like a Corvette. :D
It has a touch of Lotus Elise from that angle.

So it's higher performance than the Pista? That would definitely be a slap in the face for Pista buyers. Most people haven't even gotten theirs yet...

Anybody see what I see? Ferrari lost it without Pininfarina :( The 458 was Pininfarina and it's like Ferrari doesn't have a clue what to do now. Do you see the Huracan Performante in the bumper... The 720s LED lighting... The Hennessey Venom in the rear... It's a cool looking car. Just like most new Italian models. We criticize it for a few days then love it right after.

I think darker colors will clean up the rear transitions. Much cleaner than 812 Nike swoosh.

I would go Rosso mugello or darker blue.

I like the design. Would be hard to pick between it and a speciale.
