Ok to me it looks like the F8 has taken the Pista and J50 "almost" rear end and combined them Image Unavailable, Please Login
I can tell the difference. Try it between a 991 turbo s and a speciale. A passenger in a 991 turbo s will get their head snapped back into their seat (even though they are expecting the launch) and will feel dizzy for a couple of days. No such feeling in the speciale. I've been in a Chiron (he didn't even launch it) and it is noticeable compared to say a Mclaren P1.
.04 G... seriously Ok whatever you guys say. This thread is boring as hell. Endless Mc discussion along with how much Ferrari sucks. Yawn. Time to change the channel.
No reason for me to exaggerate. I've been on runway strips; I've done launches in turbo s, f12, p1, 650s, speciale, chiron (not launch but heavy acceleration from a starting position). The most impressive by far is Chiron. Real impressive.
Cool, look forward to it. Yeah, there is acceleration you can feel and accelerations you can FEEL. (1 - 7 G's in less than 3 seconds)
In regards to McLaren. I really like the 720s, and really like the 570GT. Both look great and go like stink. I wouldn’t mind owning either. However when it comes to the brand McLaren let’s get something clear. They do not go through the same effort with the same expertise that Ferrari have and do. They do NOT design or build their own engines. Not for F1 and not for the street. As Enzo said “I don’t sell cars, I sell engines. The cars I throw in for free as something has to hold the engine.” This is something the MacTrolls here love to forget. You can see enzo’s approach here in his words. Quite different to McLarens. Enzo considered the engine the heart of the car which they still do feel that way today and operate accordingly. Each Ferrari engine has its own unique sand mold that the block for that specific engine to be poured into, UNIQUE mind you. Like a different thumbprint for each car. I don’t mind that the F8 is built upon a proven race winning, and SERIES winning, platform. It would be idiotic not to build from it until the new generation Ferrari’s are ready. Oh did a 720s beat a Ferrari in your neighborhood drag strip on a YouTube video?!?! Meaningless. I couldn’t possibly care any less. Good for the McLaren. They need that to pin to their lapel to prove themselves. So the reality and fact is. McLaren may in fact race on the same tracks, and they may sell in the same markets however they don’t compete with Ferrari. Not really...
It took me a while to figure out that people on these forums bring the argument about Formula 1 down to road cars. I can tell you that just about everyone I know in real life doesn't care about F1 or even buy cars based on allegiance to Formula 1 racing.
Lets rehash this thread. A bunch of car enthusiasts discuss the F8 pros and cons for the first 28 or so pages. Then a Ferrari fan boy comes in and says Mac sucks. Owners of mclarens who also happen to own Ferraris offer a counter argument and have a discussion of the brands. Ferrari fan boys gets upset that someone is discussing Mclaren on a Ferrari thread. Others jump in and now start using derogatory terms such as "Mactrolls" If you want to keep this an F8 discussion, why bring up the Mac in the first place?

Feel free to show us all these super valuable aero patents Ferrari has on the F8. You know why the 458 doesn't have an S-duct? Because they didn't want it to have an S-duct.

If you wish to characterize it that way you certainly have the prerogative to do so; however, it is an oversimplification. I am not a "Ferrari fanboy," but rather an enthusiast of numerous different cars and brands, Ferrari being my favorite. What I am responding too, and fed up with, is the endless Mac bickering that takes place across dozens upon dozens of threads over may months, not just this thread. I have an idea...if on a Ferrari chat room someone states they love Ferrari and maybe that person also puts down Mac...the "Mac fan boys" can refrain from rising to the bait and starting yet again another bicker session on FChat about Macs. Macs don't need defending on FChat...they can go do that on MacChat. Better yet...all of them can go over to MacChat and endlessly bitterly complain about Ferraris and how much the guys on FChat have their collective heads up their collective butts, and no one here would care. Nor do I suspect a single person from here would go over there and bash Mac and defend Ferrari. It has grown exhausting, and is significantly detracting from the quality f discussions here. I am not the only person who has complained about this, see how many "likes" my previous post generated...currently at 14. I'll say no more about it, as this is an F8 thread...but I have asked Rob and the Mods to look into solutions if they are willing.
I know Ferrari is all about red, but they do themselves a disservice in promotion because red is a notoriously difficult and bad color to photograph. The red car looks awful in those pictures. They should launch with red renders etc, but launch with different color cars at the shows. Just makes them look bad in pictures.
