Hey guys. I’m new to Ferrari Chat. I’m not sure if I have a problem or not as I only just bought my F430 and have noticed when in either sport or race and come to a set of lights the car will down shift back to 1st on its own which is normal, I however can most of the time but not all them time feel the car go into 1st by feeling a small thump back to 1st. Apart this everything else feels normal. Is this thump normal as it’s just engaging back to 1st. Or do I potentially have a problem? The car has only travelled 8,000k’s Thanks in advance all Pat
Hard to tell what "thump" feels like but my 360 Spider, F1 with 14k miles makes a noticeable sound/feel when coming to a complete stop and 1st gear is engaged. Sounds normal as compared to my car.
Perfectly normal, the transmission is programmed to downshift automatically as you reduce speed there will be a thump Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I have this in my car. I queried it with the specialist I use and they said it is normal. It's not a huge thud but is perceptible from the driving seat.
I wonder if going to neutral at stops before it "thumps" to 1st will help save wear and tear on the clutch? Any techs care to comment?
Sometimes the thump is harsher than I would like. Because of that, I sometimes like to throw the car into neutral. But its been pretty normal thus far for the last 5k miles with clutch reading prior to 5k miles at 98% remaining.
