need 308 cloth pouch 1977 vintage

Are you sure about cloth? My '77 pouch is leather and others I've seen are leather. I'm thinking cloth showed up later. But maybe it was some sort of option.

My 1977s all THREE came with leather document pouches, so I would tend to agree the later cars about 1980 became supplied with the cloth finish.
I also think dealers were guilty of stirring it all up!

There are some very nice repros out there, of the leather versions.

Real ones are really silly money these days, IMO.

 

As far as I understand it. In Europe the cars were supplied with the cloth 'cavallino & laurel' pouches from approx. 1974-1980 and with the cloth 'cavallino only' pouches from 1980-1984/85. Leather after that.

In the same period 1974-1980, the US cars were supplied with a leather pouch instead of the cloth pouch. See pics of genuine one. As from 1980 they had the same pouch as in Europe.

My 1976 Euro and 1977 Euro both have leather like the one pictured. My 1977 US has leather like the one pictured. Never heard of cloth on 1976 or 1977s from anywhere, but maybe someone has...

 

My 1978 has a cloth wallet. Didn't the lighter tan leather (Schedoni) wallets appear by 1980?

I have 2 US 85QV GTS both came with cloth. One with round and the other with square corners. Which one is correct? Round one for earlier cars?

My 78 has the fabric pattern with the laurel motif but it has the darker leather trim & slightly rounded corners.

The interior is similar to neither. The interior pockets are untrimmed & the side opposite the clasp has a an angled indent.

Good info from all sides.

My North American cars leather pouch interior was the silk fabric trimmed pockets, only difference from the one pictured above.

 

My Jan 84 has the one with square corners.

 

Not needling you, Chas, but if the car is a 1977, then the pliers in the tool roll are not "period correct": these pliers only came with the late production QVs in 1985...
Can't see the rest of the tools in the tool roll to tell you if the tools are "period correct" for a 1977.

Recently bought a “Gucci” cloth laurel pouch and documents from FerrariLierature. I was unable to get much feedback on them before buying, but was very happy with the products and service. Oddly, my wife had ordered an old poster from them for me for Valentine’s Day and it arrived the day before the pouch set did.

Lots of different details and info out there on this stuff; be cautious before pulling the trigger.

 

My November 78 GTS #26451 has this same pouch.

 

Someone has long since separated such a pouch from Nov 78’s 26359
