    Hello,

The light switch on my 599 stopped working, the knob tooth inside no longer turns the electrical switch.

I've taken it apart, but cannot figure out how to remove the metal knob from the switch housing (first picture).

Does anyone know how this is done?

First off, so you are aware, the mirror control is from a Maserati - not a 599. It also looks like someone refinished your trim prior as the graphics look wrong. Sorry - occupational hazard.

The back side posts are broken off - we deal with is often and fix them.

We disassemble these all the time but I don't do them, Randy does. I'll ask him to post tomorrow. I'm sure he can do them in his sleep and we probably have pictures of the details.

    Great, thank you very much.

Interesting to know that my mirror switch is not original.

How much would it cost to get all the tabs and everything else fixed?

Randy is going to be busy today but here are some photos that may help you...

Regarding repair cost, we really would need parts in hand to determine what it would take. Sometimes it's better to just purchase a new assembly and we can get one from the factory for you - we just got one a few weeks back for another customer.

Send me an email please (not PM) if you wish to discuss more.

These are delicate assemblies which require proper tools and techniques to disassemble.

Hi Rob - It's just 3 metal clips (snap) that hold the trim into the leather dash section. See this image of the back. Call me or Serkan if you need help.

Dave, these switches look very similar to the ones out of a 612 but a different part number. Ferrari seems to sell only the entire assembly with the headlight and mirror switch. Are you able to find the switches independently? I need a mirror switch for a 612. The knob came off. Hate to spend close to $1000 just for the knob.

Dave, here's what my broken switch looks like. Missing the knob for the mirrors. Switch is in the left position. I can adjust the left nut not the right or turn them in.

The light switch is missing a piece as well. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Yikes. First off, someone that was drunk refinished that assembly. Bad bad bad. The mirror control is toast and so is the headlight control. Game over - you need a new assembly.

If anyone needs a light switch strickly for parts, I'm posting it on the parts thread. The switches work fine, its the knobs and plate that are messed up. If you can fix yours, way better than $1,100 for a new one!

How much are they? Ricambi has it as a "call" item. Local Ferrari dealer has it around $1000+sales tax (9.25% here). Eurospaces can order it from Italy and has it for around $735 (depending on exchange rate) + shipping + customs duty (Still waiting to see my customs bill). I'd love to find parts cheaper somewhere.

Willing to share your sources? I just checked Ricambi and they list the US version as unavailable and the European version for $999. In any case, if someone simply needs the switch portion, this would be less.

Hi Wieslaw, were you able to remove the light and mirror switches panel ?
How to proceed ? Just using a small screw driver ?
Thanks in advance for any help

Hi, very easy. I used credit card and thin screwdriver. Put CC between panel and leather and then gently lift panel by screwdriver from downside.

    Sorry for the late reply.
Thanks a lot for your answer.
If I understood well, you place the card between the Bottom part of the panel and the lettre, and then, using the screwdriver, you lift the panel upward.
    Am I correct ?

Hi you can also order and search from e bay an 2009 Lancia thesis dasbord lith switch as it is the same as the Ferrari 599, i had the same problem myne just broke the center of the grey round switch and felt on the floor of my car...
Advice of my mechanic was tho searc for one lancia thesis wich i did and ordered at a cost of €164 and them at the workshop just replaced the insides ( the thesis) switch does not have that rubber looks ( wich later gets stiky) and it is all black if needed i can go to my ebay purchase record and give you the lancia part number so it will be easier to find ... Mine came from germany
