Never had to buy one, i would think about looking for an overhaul kit if you are handy on the tools. If it has seized up it will need bearings and the shaft seal as a minimum. No reason you cannot strip it and if badly damaged throw it back together and get a service exchange unit.
Just remember to find out why it seized up, in case any metal dust has got into the system. No point fitting a new compressor if the system is full of rubbish as it will damage the new unit/ block the expansion valve/ drier will probably want changing as well

    Earth, mostly ...
Cool... it looks like the pulley has more grooves, and clutch appears to be different. Will it all line up correctly?

True but don't worry it works. Just have to use the right path of grooves (one more groove on Opel model).

Understand that alternative 360 compressors can have different (variable?) displacement valves (Green color on stock compressor, these white colored?) and may not operate correctly on car inc needing to change gas pressure to compensate.

Any reason to think these won't operate similar to stock?

    Bump.

Anyone else that can vouch for this unit (or in the process of trying), or reasons it may not work as above?

Need a new compressor shortly also.

Question for those that have SUCESSFULLY used this compressor on your 360. I've got my car up in the air as we speak and the OEM compressor pulled off and sitting next the reman unit from Hella. Couple observations....
    1. The connector for the clutch on the remain one is two wire, while the OEM one is single wire going to the clutch and another coming from the clutch going to ground on the case. Since you used the new clutch, I'm assuming you changed the connector. Is that correct?
    2. the holes on the back of my compressor (reman unit) are not tapped. Were yours?

    Good remarks.
    I reused the Ferrari connector.
I also reused the cover plate from the Ferrari compressor. That means opening the compressor and the risk to damage the O-Rings. Then you will have to refill with oil.
I think the best solution is to ask you AC specialist to do this job. It will be a slam dunk for him.

PS: cost savings mean always some efforts but that's gratifying !

Went ahead and tapped the holes to the correct size. Debating on pulling the clutch or just changing the connector out, or possibly making a jumper wire. Something else I noticed. Per the Ferrari WSM, the 360 uses PAG150 oil while the tag on the new compressor says to use PAG46 or equal. Do you know if your AC guy used 150 or 46? Since I changed the dryer already and the remaining oil in the system is minimal compared to the compressor, I am leaning towards PAG46 instead of the heavier PAG150

    hi Tifosi101
I’m thinking to change the ac compressor according to your experience. I have the following questions:
    diameter of pulley?
    3 threads?
    Other modifications?
After some years what is your experience? It still works?
    Thanks in advanced
    Fra
