    - painting/polish:

Since my compressor has been spitting dirt for some time, I decided to use spray cans for this project.
Choise is Tamyia TS-51- Racing Blue metallic.
After let dry for about a week polishing- also Tamiya 3-steps-system.
Only after polishing the metallic effect of this came out very nicely.

    - detail paint:

For painting details to the body I had to improvise some supports.
    But then an unexpected surprise:
Usually I use a different based lacquer to paint onto a lacquered surface.
This allows corrections to be made without attacking the base coat.

Surprisingly the Tamiya can sprays are not water/alcohol based as the acrylic paints- but enamel solvable.
Fortunately, I did a test before I ruined the paint job on the body.

    - note:

For those who wonder at the speed of my progress:
Indeed, I´m a very slow modeler- job doesn´t allow very much time for my hobby.
Actually, this project is already finished, and it took me about 4 months.
As I wasn´t sure, when and maybe ever I´ll finish, I decided to show it not before finalized.
I just didn't want to show another project that was interrupted and never finished.

I am happy about every other project shown, even if it takes longer, and even if it is not finished.
    So much for today.

In my opinion the golden BBR wheels looks better, but hey....., it's your model! ;)
Maybe you can lowered the whole model a little bit?

BBS wheels, not BBR. I also like the BBS wheels a little better on this piece. Nonetheless, it's a very good conversion. Well done!

Sorry, was my mistake at first:(
    Of course: BBS!
And yes, I do like these a little more than the white rims, but as mentioned earlier I´m going to do a different option.

    - finished:

Lowered front axle by 1.5mm. I like this slight slope of the car.
Another step of polishing with "Tamiya FINISH + WAX" (no clear coat).
Finished. I like it - hope you do as well.
Last Picture: along with it´s small (original) brother, and big brother 512BB Koenig.

I also hope to see some of your projects here in future -looking forward to!

Some upgrades to a 1:18 model of KK-Scale Models:

Ferrari 275 GTS Spider Pininfarina 1964

Here some pictures of the original model:

It's a nice model, but it need a few changes like the wheels and the interior.
This is the car I looked at: https://vandpcars.smugmug.com/1965-Ferrari-275-GTS-KYY-460C/

The floor of the interior was bare plastic, so very ugly.

Nice job, well done ! However I'm a bit surprised by the center of the steering wheel. The original would have been more suitable.

KK models do a pretty good job on the body shapes. I bought their 1/12th Dino 246 and I think it has a more accurate body than the 1/12th Top Marques models. But otherwise the Top Marques models are made much better and have alot more detail and photoetch. I think also all the KK's are diecast metal and Top Models are all limited run resin models.

Nice upgrade but I think the new wire wheels are to large a diameter for that car. The originals are probably the right size but the wire area is to small. Go figure!!

Plus are the directional spinners the same on both sides? Some of the Chinese made models come from companies that have not figured that out yet. I really hate the way they screw a lot of details up. And they are arrogant about it when you tell them to try and fix it before selling them(pre production advise). Top Marques is the worst, thats why Marshall I think does not like to deal with them I bet.

Thank you for your comments, guys.

#Etienne: You are right about the center of the steering wheel, maybe not such a good choise of me.

#Tom: Original wheels of the model are to small.
I have seen a lot of pictures of this car and most of them have larger wheels.
And when you look closer to my pictures, you can see, that I am using the right spinners...........yes, on both sides. ;)

Looks great John, i agree that only the steering wheel center looks "aftermarket" :)
One question, do you buy the bases for the models from BBR? they sell them without the plexiglass cover?

    Thank you Pedro.
BBR don't sell the bases without the plexiglass covers.
But if you want, you can buy the plexiglass covers only for the newest BBR models.

I agree: original steering wheel center is the better choice.
But I like all the other Upgrades very much!
Very nice model- and great job, John!

Love to see somebody modelling again
