File this under "while we're in there…"

You may recall my radiator pipe leak fix-in-the-field earlier this year. Oh, the fun we had.

I still haven't gotten a sleeve of silicon radiator hose grafted onto the pipe, which I'll cut right at the trouble spot, to patch the leak, but that's because life has been interfering – no technical reason.

However, I've noticed that the radiator itself doesn't look very good. It's always had some corrosion, but there is crusted coolant at the connectors, and I'm nearly certain it's the original unit from '95.

Ebay has a few aluminum replacements (see here) and Ricambi shows their aluminum replacement as out of stock. Not sure if they're all coming from the same place in Germany, or what.

Anyone have any insight on where the best part source is these days to stooge this, other than some poor soul parting out a pristine engine bay? (Rather not talk about that.)

Do a search on Saldana radiators as a potential other source for these...

I would buy from Ricambi, when they are back in stock. Prefer aluminum over the plastic caps ones...

Thanks all. Makes me wonder if the Ricambi part is sourced from Saldana.

Just spoke to Saldana and they did say they make Ricambi's product.

I know for a fact that the aluminum one does not fit the 355 challenge.

Changed both in my 355 and I used Saldana, way better and cheaper than OEM. Ricambi did not carry them at the time so I ended up purchasing them from Euroquipe in Illinois. They cost about 900$ IIRC

Were your radiators leaking before they were replaced?

Yes, one blew out and I changed it and then about a year latet same thing happened to the other so now I have the upgraded Saldana ones on both sides.

Was very impressed with the build quality. The OEM Ferrari ones looked like cheap plastic and were priced higher than these. Honestly a no-brainer as a replacement for any 348/355 owner.

I too upgraded to Saldana radiators two years ago when, at Sebring, a chunk of rubber tore through my right wheel well liner screen knocking off two fan blades and damaging the OEM radiator core. Seeing how cheaply it was made, I decided to upgrade both of my radiators. Daniel at Ricambi America didn't have the Saldana radiators in stock at that time so he referred me to Euroquipe too.

    Thank-you again, Daniel!
