Most dealers in Europe expected 200-205 k net, now on price level of Performante. Relatively modest price increase. Has US version also gasoline particulate filter? I guess, yes.
I think Ferrari has been clever for once, by pricing relatively sensibly the F8, the Pista buyers keep their advantage that they can claim they've paid a lot - "look how wealthy I am" For the cheap guys like me (and I'm not ashamed) the Pista price was a step too high but for some it's part of the appeal, each to their own.
The particulate filter is a disadvantage. „Tributo“ may tell tribute to EU regulations... Strange that Ferrari tries to hide such information until it is uncovered accidentally. Not a single word about this crucial change, in fact initiated in preparation for the coming era when Ferrari lose their status as a small scale car producer (<10000 units/year). Which will force them to cope with the emission regulations as every car manufacturer has to. Are clients considered being stupid?
It makes you continue to wonder what other hidden "secrets" they have not disclosed to their faithful following. This is and always has been part of the "Ferrari experience".
In the US, a bit under 300k USD is the base price. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
So that means if the F8 price is $295 (a bit under $300k), then the base price will be a +16% increase!!!
Seems like a large increase but that is what the FDealership told me. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Is the dreaded 'particulate filter' also required for 2020 vehicles sold in North America by Ferrari to?
2019 488 GTB USA MSRP attached. I think it was $258,200 when I placed the order February 2018. Price increased before delivery in August to $262,647 + $3,750. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Interesting to talk about I guess, but does it really matter? I can't see any serious buyer being okay with $8K increase, but not $10K, $15K, or $20K. If we want the car, we'll write the check. (and they know it) Jim
Look at you with a 2019. I'm slumming with a 2018 with a MSRP of 252k. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my SM-G960U1 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Ha! Yeah, I think that’s what I was expecting when I placed my order: the same $252,800 base...then I got hit with the increase right before it arrived. I was pissed for about 5 minutes...but it was made a little less annoying by the fact that a few of the options I expected to pay for in my spec ended up being included in the new base so the net increase wasn’t too bad. Not sure how I feel about $295-300k base for the F8. Seems ok...I guess it doesn’t really matter right now, I’ll be holding on to my 488 for quite awhile. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Lukeb817, I was a little nervous buying a 2018 with the new F8 right around the corner. Did you consider waiting? Now that I've had a bit to digest the F8, I'll be sticking with my 488. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Agreed, but there was a rumor that the price would be less than a 5% increase over a 488. That does not appear to be the case, by a long shot.
I'm in Geneva right now and I took a picture of the spec of the rosso scuderia F8, I think it was blurred on a previous post. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I ordered my 2019 488 a year ago (in February 2018) before we really knew what was coming up next. Even when my car was delivered in August, it was still unclear when the replacement was coming and what it would be. I could have walked away from my order when it was delivered and received a full refund of my deposit due to the price increase between order and delivery, but it didn’t cross my mind. I have been utterly thrilled with my 488. I had a very slight case of sour grapes for about 10 seconds when the F8 was unveiled, but the feeling quickly passed, and I’m going to enjoy my 488 GTB for a long time. I love it. I’m currently recovering from shoulder surgery - I’m counting the days until I’m cleared to drive again so I can take it out. I experienced a similar thing with my 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS. I ordered it spring of 2014 and received in August 2014....then a few months later the GT4 was announced....I obsessively tried, unsuccessfully, to track down an allocation...but at the end of the day still loved the GTS and had fun with it every weekend; I plan to keep it for a very long time. After a short time, my Porsche dealer offered me a GT4 with 500 miles on it for MSRP and I passed on it. I didn’t need it. I feel the same way about the F8. Always something faster and newer around the corner. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
No reason to be disappointed with the 488. I "may" move to the F8, undecided, but regardless I'm still very happy with the 488 and would be just fine keeping it and passing on the F8. I want to play with the config, judge the cost benefit to some extent, and then decide. Jim
