I think this applies only to the coupe and not the spyder... I am 5'11 and found it perfect (but if I was any taller I would probably have an issue).

Just wanted to chime in that there's a lot of great advice / perspective when it comes to purchases like these beyond the scope of the OP's original question, found great insight going through this thread

About to commit 300k to spec a soon to be replaced 488 GTB, but couldn't be more thrilled even though I know I'll need a fairly large tube of KY if/when it comes time to move on to the next car tugging at the heartstrings (smaller scale than Pista vs SVJ). Not particularly fond of burning money for no real reason, but not going to fret or stress about the depreciation either as I am banking on the entertainment/enjoyment of the car to severely outweigh that. Just happy I can still spec the car the way I want, been in love with the design since 09 when the Italia was announced/released!

Im 6'4" and could not get comfortable in the car. I was debating between Performante and something else - ended up buying something else to supplement the 488 cause as much as I loved the Perf, I just didnt fit.

    Sam,
you will love the car but I said it on the other thread and Ill say it again- consider buying a slightly used 488. I know its not all about the money and the thrill of speccing your own car is amazing- but buy a used 488- save some bucks and spec the replacement in 2 years. The financial hit will be a lot less.

  5. I kind of think the single biggest issue with the Aventador is the lack of visibility -- both to the sides and rear. Like driving in a first generation Camaro with an eye patch.

Still a bad aXX car, the look and sound is awesome. It has a ton of presence. I think abut $200K over priced considering it is not that much different from the prior models nor is it that exclusive - although more limited than the Pista.

Yep, therein lies the conundrum, definitely do not have FU money, much less a ton of it. Unlimited wants and finite resources....

This was ultimately the key factor for me, performance in the twisties. My HP is so easy to drive and the SVJ isn’t.

Sorry I slipped off the grid. So I passed, and there is still a big part of me that wished I hadn’t....

My HP was a $322,805 MSRP before tax, fees, etc and it seems like they are probably transacting in the $270’s. I think my hit would be closer to $50 than $30. Sadly, I only have about 1500 miles. I wish I had more time.

I have a coupe and at 6’6” 265lbs I fit...barely. It comes down to your definition of “comfort” and how your body is distributed. I happen to be balanced between legs and torso. I move the seat two inches forward, exaggerate the rake (I know, hardly an ideal racing posture), and then cram the steering wheel between my legs. I know, it sounds awful, but at my size, it’s the price you pay. Truth is, I’m not even truly comfortable in full-size SUVs, and don’t get me started on airplanes...

Congrats, stunning. I almost went with same color.
FYI - I've never had to plug in the car on a charger like my Ferrari's. Same for my friends...these Perfs just fire up even after a month.
I have 1,400 miles now and love it.

Well I was told to plug it in after every ride, just like the Ferrari...

Same for the aventador s....no need to plug in.

Why ferrari has this perpetually problem is moronic.

I never plug in my 458, it can sit for a week or two and fires right up.

So Lambo has all but confirmed they'll be a final edition Aventador. Not the news SVJ owners want to hear but it was expected because they're building so many SVJs.

Expected. Hence why most passed on SVJ.

I think you are right....taken 5 mos to sell my Perf, Verde Themis 3k miles....maybe because it was winter....
MSRP was $330k and it sold for $285k. Really thought it would hold better.
SVJ will drop the same if not more....it’s expected

I’ve decided to just drive my HP spyder. F it, bring on the fun.

Sadly I can’t see anything worth replacing it except SVJ roadster perhaps.

I do like the new to this year Mustang Shelby GT500.
