This is image is taken during the Nassau Speed Week held in december 1956. It belongs to the video of Bill Mitchell's one-off SR-2 Corvette (King Rose Archives), Bill's team went to the Bahamas to shake down the aero and performance of the 283 fuel-injected Corvettes before the Sebring meeting early 1957.

My car was one of three production 1957 Corvettes prepared for the race to introduce the new Rochester Fuel Injection.

That is probably Zora behind Portago and Mitchell not liking what is being saId or just the fact that Zora is holding court. Harley Earl was there and was Mitchel’s boss and supreme commander. Bill Mitchell’s SR2 was also just fitted with the new Rochester Fuel Injection. That is their fuel injection specialist at the wheel. My 1957 Corvette has the same engine and fuel injection unit today that it used at this event. Only unrestored original 1957 Corvette Factory Race Car known to exist.
