More than a hint: “Between next year (2019) and 2022 there will 15 new model launches, and the average retail price will increase significantly” according to Enrico Galliiera, Ferrari head of sales.

Is it just me, or does increased prices + increased production sound like it will = increased depreciation? Look what has happened to the FF, and they didn't make that many of them.

I tend to agree with you but 2+2 V12's do seem to depreciate faster.

Used late 612's are more expensive than used early FF's now. Probably because the FF is ugly. lol

Not sure about the FF but now answering to shareholders of a public company certainly adds financial pressures to EBITA (profitability) and can forever change the entire dynamics of what was once an exclusive private company.

Agreed, but with one exception. I change the word "can" to the word "will."

I understand why the ff trades so cheap as it isnt a great looking car. Why 612 otos aren’t 250k all day is a mystery to me.

It's those extra seats, is all it is. I've been marveling at this since the 365 GTB/4 and the 365 GTC/4. There were only 505 GTC/4 2+2's made, while there are 1,284 Daytonas. The super rare 2+2 will cost you about $200K, while the Daytona will be over $500K.

Used car prices are of zero concern for shareholders, who for the most part are not enthusiasts.

I bought a one year old Lusso and accepted the fact 5 years with the car will likely cost roughly $40K a year in depreciation. I’m ok with it as I’ll drive the hell out of it....

So is the idea of a smaller displacement high rev V12 coupled with hybrid out of the question? I think a 3.9 liter V12 at 15,000 rpm would be stellar! Even if saddled with hybridization...

High revving V12 would be absolutely stunning and a mind blowing experience

What about spending the $150k it costs to replace the LaFerrari battery when the warranty expires?

I highly doubt they will price a battery replacement on a "production" front engined V12 that high - expect more in line with 30-40k

I mean, it's a modern, old Ferrari. It looks super dated, and not in a 1960's-dated way. More like an early 2000s way.

The LF has a battery pack close to that of a cellphone than an actual EV LOL. The cost will be modest, though still ridiculously "taxed". Remember, batteries nowadays are probably down to like $150/kwh, and probably will go down even more in the next couple years. The LF battery pack probably costs barely anything to actually produce.

It's the same reason that they'll probably charge you more for a new seatbelt in a LF vs a Portofino -- rare car tax. $150K for a LF battery pack would be like paying $5K for a cellphone battery heh

The $150K is raw cost without labor, shipping or tax. Someone here posted a replacement cost of over $200K and the LaF battery is also now out of warrantee. I don't see the cost of hypercar batteries ever getting lower like cellphones. You either have the cash or you can't afford the car. When the future electric motors per wheel fail those are likely swap only as well.
