Anyone track their Pista yet?

Silverstone on Monday has all 3 of these in a shootout for the lap king. Senna, 918, La Ferrari also.

If ferrari is supplying the Pista then:

1. Pista
2 all others ....

 

Will all come down to tired probably. Using 918/LF with original tire compounds won't be pretty.

 

Indeed, even though if they race around the quick GP circuit, the LF's and 918's power advantage will make a big difference.

 

who is running them at Silverstone...magazine or tv ???

 

The driver in the video is a coach I have used in the past when I’ve been to COTA. He’s a legit driver and has driven many of his clients cars . You can check out his other videos (p1, speciale , 720, 675, zr1, etc). He broke the street track record this weekend with a senna and then broke it again with a different senna the next day .

I’d suggest checking his comments in the video . He was using the Speedo in pista to compare to gps speed of 720.

Another owner of a pista who knows what he is doing was also tracking at COTA this week-end. He seemed to have been underwhelmed with pista (just one person’s opinion )

Sometimes it takes some time when going up in horsepower to adjust to the speed . It also depends on what one car a person is coming from (as an example; I didn’t like 720 on track until the third time I tracked it).

Adam’s comments on his channel should be taken seriously though . He had a lot of experience with a lot of different cars at COTA and has no bias

 

Its Topaz detailing track day. I think all cars are standard customers so everything should be fair.
Forgot to say a Lambo SVJ is running as well.
Oliver James Webb is the pilot for all cars.

 

Neither the seat fit or the alleged overly soft suspension have been reported as an issue from all other pros who have driven and reviewed the car. If either were really an issue you would have though at least someone like Chris Harris would have commented on that. But no. And these are all guys who have stepped out of cars such as 600lt, Gt3rs etc so i'm not sure how much credence can be placed upon that particular comment of his.

 

What was interesting too is that the pista he drove went into limp mode....wtf....that’s disappointing....it’s a Mclaren Pista ..lololol...

 

Again there was no info on that so not sure how legit it is or if it even happened. Usually if a car like this goes into limp you would have some information offered insofar as the situation which bought it about. But nothing. With a Mac usually it just won't start at all after a good run. That's happened now twice with me. So I speak from personal experience - 2 different cars - two separate track days - and all that seemed to have bought that situation about was that the car had seen a few laps of what I would consider very modest track driving by others prior to my turn. I've never experienced or seen any Ferrari THAT temperamental. Porsches' OTOH just seem to be able to relentlessly cop anything you can throw at them.

 

I'm more curious about the limp mode comment, though...

 

Looks like the driver for Silverstone may be Ollie Webb. If my guess is right, then the SVJ may be there as well...

Sorry it was set up by Manthey-racing who set the lap record at the ring, bit unfair on others the GT2RS not sure it would be 2nd without the set up and track tyres.
