Embarrassing but lets' not forget Ferrari's 458 problem.

Talking to the dealers, Ferrari somehow changed the glue for the insulation inside the fenderwells between the testing vehicles and production. So, they had to scrape off all the all glue and put down new insulation on every 458 made to that point.

Looks like theyre trying creases etc to break up what is otherwise a tall bulky side.
It was always going to be tough to design a mid engined car thats easy to get in and out of, can carry two sets of golf clubs etc.
Hard to design a sprotscar esp a me one thats all things to all people. As the new NSX proves you can end up with neither fiish nor fowl.
I juts woish they would have left the Fe car as the practical vette and allowed the Me one to follow a more natural sportscar path.

What a shame that wasn’t produced. Could have been a game changer. I see a mix of Vette show cars and McLaren M6gt

When Chevrolet starts to sell Corvette as a stand alone brand maybe they need an 'Icona' series like Ferrari has. They could to do an Astro II like the blue show car. Also the Aero Vette could be another show stopper as sort of Chevrolet 'speedtail' edition...

Zora is the perfect name for this car. He is the engineer that envisioned what the car could become if properly designed and marketed while offices full of accountants could only see red ink. Those that don't know his name or role in this cars history will learn it and learn to appreciate his work.

This I am waiting to see. Base price new mid engine corvette $80,000 500 hp. Top of the line twin turbo $130,000 with 900-1000hp..... DCT. Currently twisting its frame in pre production testing with max up motor.

I saw the article too; funny that it did not verify that it was indeed a mid-engine, or did I miss it?

Now that the C8 is DCT we can count on one hand the cars left with manual. It does not appear that it would be "DCT for first release, manual later" (like the new Porsche), but instead only DCT

Vettes have often offered supercar performance at a fraction of the price. Sometimes even faster.

I expect nothing less with this latest iteration.

I respect and do not debate a Vette's performance bonefides; but the car never did it for me. I'm hoping that changes with the latest design.

The factory reps, when pressed, have stated that the C8 will be in spitting distance of C7s.
That should put the base price in the $60-$65K range.

I think they'd be dumb if they marked it up too much higher than the current generation Vette. They (should) know their audience.

If Chevy can somehow market a mid-engined, naturally aspirated V8, DCT (or manual) transmission car for roughly $75,000 nicely optioned, they should have a fair bit of demand.

I'd give it plenty of thought.

Looking forward to what comes our way...

Well, we KNOW the wheels are wrong, I doubt the side intake is that shape, and I doubt any rear spoiler being on the production car. Beyond that....

GUI Zeus Bronze and GMO Rapid Blue are both new and non-metallic. Accelerate Yellow is now metallic with most other colors carried over from the C7. Looks like Z-51 with the 8spd DCT is the only performance option for the 2020 intro. No wide body C8 before 2021. Lots of order info in great detail, thanks!
