Body count 49 at the moment . Happened at two mosques. They have arrested 4 people, one been a ex ausie. Really turned things up side down here in Christchurch.
I have spent quite a bit of time in NZ and my sympathies go out to your country. There is a thread in the P&R section in the subscribed forums. One of the bigots asked me about anti-muslim views in NZ and I told him they weren't anything like what he experiences in New York, City. Can you shed any light on the way it is in Christchurch??? Would you mind if I repost your comments in P&R???
They are saying one of the guys is from Grafton on the mid north coast....A self professed white supremacist....Didn't think we had that crap in our own back yard...
This is the result of 'validating' any sort of bigotry - gives every idiot the chance to pursue their own manifesto. Good call by Ardern to NOT show or publish any of the footeag, manifesto - shame the media and others didn't respect this request.

You do realise a headcovering was standard for any bereavement in Christian churches less than 50 years ago? It's a sign of respect - I would still wear a hat or scarf to an elderly Catholic person's funeral even though I'm a non-believer.

Exactly - I wouldn't enter a Hindu shrine wearing leather shoes (or some other circumstances), a mosque or a Buddist temple without being modestly dressed etc. Even at the big Catholic cathedrals in Europe which are more tourist sites than temples, I would never enter in shorts, bare arms, use my phone, talk loudly or take photos. I don't beleive in any God, but RESPECT is owned to any believer.
He deserves every brickbat he gets .... men are arseholes and women keep us in check .... except for Gary, Steve and me ... we're true gentlemen
