The arm slap gesture is something I haven't seen since my Dad was alive.

Love that video! If it is not in the menu on a Qatar car then check via SD, Leonardo and such.

Apparently the alarm remains on the software of the dashboard itself, so the solution would be to update this specific software (not the full car) to one market that hasn’t this restriction, for instance EU.

Allow me to go deeper on this topic and I will revert.

Its not as easy as you might think, so I have listed the steps:

Display/mode 2 buttons on dash to right of steering wheel - press right button (mode) quickly and release
brings up menu to change car settings - use hidden button (Up/down/enter) on back of steering wheel (and in front of right paddle) to toggle and select
press down to toggle to speed limit press enter
brings up speed setting keep toggling 100, 105, ...and you will find OFF
    Regards,
    Ron
PS Hands up all those did not know this button existed and tried to use the Display/Mode buttons to toggle !!

I know how you use the menu but mine is a Qatar car so the speed limit function is not listed

To be honest I did not know and it was driving me crazy lol thank you for the info. In my defence I have only owned a 599 for a few months still trying to understand her but she is much nicer than the Mrs hahahahhaha

Hope everyone is fine and in good health

Ziad - I am glad the explanation helped, the 599 has so many features and linked dependencies, it takes a while to find them out. E.g. you cannot reverse the car if the hood is open. Who is Mrs haha?
Motorama - there may be a back door with an advanced diagnostic tool to change the settings, I could not find it on my Link x431.

Old threat ! Anyhow: the local dealer can replace the software and remove the 120 speed Warning etc and activating some more functions that cars from the Middle East don‘t have. But you need to sign something that you swear that the car will not be exported back to the Middle East. It costs about 120 Euro. Alternatively you probably can go to one of the backyard mechanics and ask there. But please take into account that the spec belongs to the history of the car etc...
