Welcome - you may well find information in the 308 dedicated section from owners who previously had similar issue
Sounds like the fuel distributor to me. May need to have it rebuilt. Could also be clogged fuel injectors. I have a fuel injector tester / cleaner that I use to renew the injector or determine it needs to be replaced. Flow Tech in Alabama is who I use to handle the fuel distributor and warm up regulator rebuilds if I need that.
Thanks I was thinking the fuel dis or injectors but not sure. What is the best way to check the injectors. They just unscrew. I tried to unscrew one but didn't want to put much pressure it was real hard so I stopped any help would be appreciated. Thanks bruce
They don't unscrew, they are held in by an o-ring and just pull out. Having said that, "pull out" is not that easy. Some type of prying device will be needed. You can have them checked by Flow Tech if you send of the distributor. I don't know where you are, I am in Georgia and can test / clean them for you as well.
If the car has been standing 4 years the cis injection system will indeed require attention. The very next thing to check is the sensor plate to make sure it travels freely. Engine vacuum works on this plate and a plunger is on the opposite end of this plate with fuel being fed to ea injector in direct correlation to how far the sensor plate moves. Its possible that being laid up for this amount of time, the plunger in the metering head may be very sticky.
+1 -- extended disuse is a CIS killer (as it has a lot of very small orifices/clearances that don't tolerate having debris/varnish/gunk forced thru them). No, no o-ring used on the 308i-2V CIS injector mounting. It uses a screw-in steel bushing 114660 and a custom rubber compression gasket 114661 -- way better sealing than the later o-ring design introduced during the 308QV, but is prone to corrosion between the steel bushing and aluminum manifold on a large-pitch, fine-thread making them difficult to unscrew. If you tried to pull the injector out on this design without unscrewing the bushing, it would almost certainly damage the rubber gasket: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
