I did. I bought it in Missourri and brought it home to Wisconsin. Right around there is that weird imaginary line that you pass and instantly find yourself in the south, right? I've always been trying to figure out exactly where it is.
I live right in the middle of Illinois. Lots of car shows but not a lot of exotics attend. I used to organize a cars and coffee but not enough interest to keep it going. Cars that I know of just in Springfield 7 Ford Gt’s, 2 Countach, 3 Mosler’s (they only made 20), About 20 Ferrari’s, a couple of Mclaren’s and Aston’s. I just bought a Gallardo last week. Isringhausen Imports is in town and they are a large Porsche, Mercedes, BMW dealer Biggest and best show is the Route 66, over 1,000 cars but maybe only one or two Exotic’s
Hey Jason, I would agree with Mike about the Route 66 show being the best in town. I haven't been around there in a few years, but I try to stay up-to-date on the car scene. There are a handful of guys on this site that live in Central Illinois (Springfield and Peoria). Cars that I know of (seen/heard about) in the last couple of years: Silver Ferrari F-430--Lincoln 2 Bentley CGTs--Springfield A handful of Bentley CGTs--Decatur A few older Rolls Royces--Decatur A couple of Maserati GTs--Decatur A few older Vipers--Decatur and Springfield 2017 SRT Viper GTS-R--Springfield 2017 SRT Viper Dealer Edition--Decatur Rolls Royce Ghost--Decatur Aston Martin Rapide--Decatur A few Astons--Springfield 2 McLarens--Springfield 3 Moslers--Springfield 7 Ford GTs--Springfield 4 Ford GTs (hopefully 1 more soon)--Decatur F8 Green Dodge Demon--Decatur 2019 Corvette ZR1 (coming soon)--Decatur 2 Gallardos--Springfield 1 or 2 Gallardos--Peoria A couple of old NSXs--Springfield 1 or 2 R8s--Springfield Ferrari 328, 355 spider, 360, Scud--Springfield (owned by the same guy) 458--Springfield and Peoria 360 Challenge Stradale--Peoria 360 Challenge Stradale--Springfield 612 Scaglietti--Springfield 360 Spider--Springfield AMG GT--Decatur Lotus'--Springfield and Decatur Ferrari Boxer--Springfield Ferrari Testarossa--Springfield Porsche GT4--Springfield and Peoria Radical Racecar--Peoria 2 Countach's--Springfield Ferrari F12--Peoria Ferrari F12 and 458 Spider--Decatur (same guy) 2 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione's--Decatur (same guy) Nissan GTRs--everywhere lol A collection of exotics, including a La Ferrari--Champaign More Ferrari's--In all of the surrounding areas McLaren 650S--Decatur Tesla P100D with Ludicrous--Decatur Lamborghini Performante--Springfield Rolls Royce Wraith--Springfield Brand new Ferrari 488 Spider, 812 Superfast, and GTC4 Lusso--Peoria (same guy) Countless classics I'm sure there are more that I don't know about, but that gives you an idea of what is around. Hope you like Central Illinois. Bobby
That’s a great sign. Means there is probably service available. Plus the F and L will love the company. Although I would love to live there more than a week or two at a time, for now that is what I will do. In the future it will be more. But, on days like today where there is a 100 degree swing in temperature, I know I won’t be there in winter
If you ask around, there may be some people in Springfield or Decatur that can work on your cars, but I do know of a place in Peoria. Kauth & Mayeur in Peoria works on all kinds of exotics. Michael Benet takes care of most people’s cars in the central Illinois area. He posts on here quite often, under the name Michael B. He is the guy who owns the 360 Challenge Stradale in Peoria. He seems like a stand up guy and knows his stuff. Beats going to Chicago or STL every time something comes up. Vipernut, f4udriver, SoIllFerrari, and Michael B are all members on here that live in Central Illinois. All great guys and enjoy cars. I’m sure they would do a meet up/drive when it gets nice out. Would love to see the Countach if you are ever in the Madison, WI area. Take care, Bobby
The contact is in Milwaukee at present. Maybe before they go down to Illinois I will go over to Madison
I appreciate the offer, but that is not necessary. Just drive it for all of the Illinois guys to spot!
Anyone with a suggestion for a mechanic to work in a 308 in Central Illinois? Sure could use some help, thanks.

I wouldn't wash any Ferraris or collector cars, all cars are rusted or are about to. If someone has a car restored and gets all new metal work done, then the first thing they do when they get it home is drag out the hose? The water is gonna go to the same places it always did. My first bare metal on my Dino was in early 2002, when I got it back late 2002 I started with the hose, by 2003 I had a bubble at the wheel lip, NEVER AGAIN did I wash it . Detail spray only. Just did my second bare metal in 2017, No water ever detail spray only. If its Dirty, then I will spray bottle with water and just pull a micro cloth over the car then detail spray. No water to get trapped anywhere ever
Heading up to Lincoln this weekend. Car show in Farmington. Anyone going? Anything else happening. Coming from Phoenix I feel sometimes I am Clapping with one hand. I make some wind but no noise.
