The first, quite obviously, is the car as I ordered it, straight off the boat. The later pictures are after the secret sauce was slapped on it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Yes, they changed the car quite dramatically for the better. The wheels reduced rotational mass by nearly 40 lbs., and it is amazing how this translates to improved acceleration, deceleration, and throttle response. However, keep in mind that it is extremely difficult to go with a larger tire/wheel fitment that is lighter than stock; the vast majority of "wheel upgrades" end up hurting performance because they are so heavy. The only reason I went with the quite expensive HRE package is because it allowed me to not only go bigger, but significantly lighter. 40 lbs reduction of rotational mass is like taking much more sprung weight out of the car.

Of course, what makes this even more amazing to me is the difference in size of the rears. Despite this increase, we still managed to shave appreciable weight. Here's another irony; the speedo now reads exactly right at 70 mph as verified by GPS. It was way off with the smaller (factory) tires... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm not a huge fan of gigantic wheels. However, I think the rear haunch of the 488 looks a little out of proportion in stock form. Thus, the larger rear wheel (keep in mind that the front wheel is factory size) and the Pista rocker tend to give the rear more balance. The fact that the wheels are so much lighter is what makes it all work for me. I wouldn't consider an aesthetic mod if it diminished performance.
I found them at a place in Northern Italy called SForza. They do OEM CF parts. The fit, finish and even the color match was impeccable, and I am a compulsive perfectionist. They are as light as a potato chip and all carbon. Cost of part was around $3500.
No spacers. The beauty of HRE is that they get their fitment spot on, every time. This is my 5th set of HREs, and they have always been 1) lighter than stock and 2) perfectly engineered for the specific car I was putting them on. However, they are definitely not cheap.
Also on my present Ford GT. Much lighter than stock, and tested to 230 mph Image Unavailable, Please Login
https://www.sforza.tech/en/product/ferrari-488-pista-carbon-rocker-panels/ Certainly a great looking mod for a 488! I see they have used your car for their promo pic too!
How is the “ride” after the change compared to stock ? Can you please share tire size front and rear. Thanks! Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I can only hope that we are given better wheel upgrades for the F8. Your selection is exactly what the F8 needs. Fantastic job!
The ride feels unchanged, but I live in the southwest and our roads are pretty smooth. Any time you go with a lower aspect ratio tire, you are always going to feel an increase in ride harshness. The sidewall of the tire is a major source of shock absorption, and as you reduce that sidewall, you lose that a degree of flex. The tire sizes are 245/35/20 and 355/25/21. I am running Corsas.
Well done! I keep coming back to look at your photos. This is one of my favorite combinations of modifications I think I have seen on a 488. Very tasteful. I've been getting the itch to add a few more mods to mine...seriously considering the Novitec springs and a cat delete (already have Novtec valveless x-pipe, aftermarket carbon fiber engine bay, and extended carbon fiber shift paddles)...those Pista rockers and HREs look awesome...very tempting to add these to the list!
