I’m hoping someone here on the board has experience with a 488 spider glass engine cover. I’ve seen and love the Capristo version on the 458 Spider. It was awesome, but the 488 spider version is quite different. My experience overall with Capristo is great.

    Anyone have this installed?

Secondly, I found a version on eBay from Darwin Pro that is “very very” similar to Capristo for quite a bit less. In fact, one of the pictures shows glass with “Capristo” imprinted. I sent a message to Darwin Pro and they said they “outsource the glass”....whatever that means.

Anyone have experience with this Darwin Pro unit or with Darwin Pro as a company:

Thanks in advance, my 488 Spider is “on the water heading to New Jersey”

Not a fan... As mentioned above, not much to look at (look at 488 GTB to compare) and just looks out of place.

Have to agree. The only thing metal is the oil cap. which I'm assuming is not plastic now.

Certainly true that the spider has “less to look at” than the coupe. At the end of the day I guess it comes down to personal preference. The 458 version looks good in my opinion. Not for everyone. I’m wondering if anyone has experience with Darwin Pro ($5K) or Capristo ($13K)?

Here is a pic of the 458 capristo version:

Seems a bargain to me if compared to the Capristo (458) version.

    Why not try it ?

A pop or two of color (i.e. red intake couplings) might make all the difference.

    Hey Mate,

Not sure if you have done something with the glass bonnet yet, but Capristo just release a brand new version this week. I think it looks stunning. Check out more details, pics and videos here.

Maybe we should see some pictures of the rear glass from F40, 360, 458, 488 coupes to compare how the view of the engine has changed over the years.

One would think that Ferrari is preparing itself for full electric vehicles where the only thing to see will be wires and batteries......
I love the Capristo 2 glass bonnet but the photo on scuderiaparts does indeed have a paint mismatch, looks like the bonnet is pink instead of red.

This is one of the things I LOVE about my F430 Spider....that glass rear is awe inspiring! That said, would rather have a 458 Spider someday (one can dream.....)
