I'm wondering if any Weber experts could tell me what the differences are between the Weber 42 DCOE 6, the 42 DCOE 8, and the 42 DCOE 12. I know the last digit is the series number, but what are the differences?

One gent. informed me that 42 DCOE 12 were for racing/hi-po only. True?

    Ciao and best

I am not CERTAIN about this, but it is my understanding is that the varying numbers after the carburettor type denote the jetting for a specific application. That is a DCOE for one type of car would have different jets and a different number than a DCOE for another type of car. One could conclude that the carburettor type could be changed by changing the jets, venturis, etc. The only fly in this ointment is that the progression holes that are drilled into the body may also be different. This would be very difficult to change.

    Trev,

A great article about the DCOE...

    http://www.tr3a.info/WeberDCOEinfo.htm

Maserati used DCOE 3, 6 and 8 on the 3500.
The number has to do with the configuration. Jetting, choke size, float level and also the number and size of progression holes may vary.

Are 8's worth anything? I have a set I may sell.

I was also trying to find Tipo 36 DO2 information, I believe for A6G's, but have come up with nothing
