How to improve the sound of my Pista

You can do 200 cell + valvetronic muffler or rear X pipe ( no muffler ) for a better sound. These 2 are the most effective ways.

Unfortunately, that was expected vs the Speciale.

 

I tried FI 200 cell with valvetronic on my regular 488, it sounded much better but you still get some smell because of the cats. It made the car has more bass and londer, not gonna sound like an NA tho.

For my Pista this time, I gonna go full titanium catback without muffler this time, dont know how it's gonna turn out yet. Have the exhaust but waiting for the car to arrive. Will post when install.

The sound is very subjective. To me, I find stock Speciale makes lots of noise but not what I considered quality, compared to F12 or 812 for example.

 

Improving the sound may be good, but one should be careful about not increasing the volume - there are many tracks with noise testing now, for instance a Stradale is often forbidden to use its (limited ) power because it's considered too noisy...

 

I usually like Kline and Novitec the most. They seem to focus on getting a more dynamic sound that has a mix of high and low pitches

Other companies such as IPE or FI are focused more in getting the highest pitch, which I find doesn’t sound as good because they get rid of a lot of the low notes.

 

How to improve sound? Get a 812 engine and put in the Pista!

But seriously.. i think there is no way to improve that much the sound of 488 in general. Anyway, congrats for the Pista.. is a gorgeous car, almost perfect. The sound is the only point that could be better.

 

If you search for "488 Pista kline" on YT, you will find some new videos of a all-black Pista, with carbon wheels. This one have a Kline exhaust.

It is not the volume I would be worried about. The head tech here assures power is reduced by playing around with the stock system in any way - says Pista engine is totally different to 488 .... OP I would check with your tech first. I was only asking about putting a valve controller and was told it's a big no no on Pista....as in don't do it.....not like 488 allows.

 

turbo car will never sound good because turbine is part of exhaust system ...

 

Novitec is about to launch its new range of products specifically made for the 488 Pista. Might be worth waiting a few days (maybe weeks) to see what they will have to offer.
