I have a 2002 360 Modena. Brown straps under front hood are staring to wear. I called Ferrari parts and they want almost $1200 to replace. Anyone have know of I have any options?

    Thanks,
    John

Get them replicated by a leather craftsman, that is the easiest cheapest and most durable option

Mine were dried cracked and broken as well. I went to a shoe repair guy and he had some pieces of leather straps that were not quite the same. I got a piece to start with. I then started looking at leather belts, men's and women's, then one day I was with my girlfriend and she started shopping for her usually favourite which is purses. I started noticing all the different colors and sizes of straps. This lead me to value village which sells all kinds of used clothing and accessories. Huge selection of different purses. I checled out 2 different stores and then bought one for $12 cut the straps off and used that. It's pretty damn close.

Or, just go to Amazon.com and search for "brown leather straps". Use Prime and have it in a few days.

Randy at Two Red Birds in Austin Texas will make perfect leather replacement straps using your existing buckles. I posted photos of mine here somewhere. I have the spare tire kit and had several extra pieces. It is definitely the way to go.

I tried several online belts and purse straps that looked close but once arrived were not close enough. The f car straps are unique.

I went to the website for two red birds.... they fixed me up, and it looks great.

Stupid question here. I have an F4 30, and the two straps that hold in my air compressor ripped in half after 10 years. I want to replace them, but they are riveted to the car. How do you get the rivet off to replace that part?

I used a drill a little larger than the hole in the rivet. Once compressed, the head gets scrunched up behind the parts being riveted, and the pull rod gets cut off. Drill that out and it will all come apart. Image Unavailable, Please Login

I can vouch for Red Bird....he has the patterns for the 360 including the spare tire option and the 430 I believe. If not, he can make them from your originals. He has sourced OEM style hardware which is heavier and of better construction then the OEM. He can use the new hardware or reuse your existing items. He will also ship your originals back to you with the new ones if you wish.

I can't find Two Red Birds in Austin. Do you have any additional contact information? I would like to get in touch with them.

    Thanks!

That is the correct address...not sure what happened but when I tried yesterday, I got a DNS error. Confirmed with Randy that everything is good and he is still making products.

Thanks to this thread I went ahead and ordered new straps from 2 red birds over the weekend. Already received just days later and I can vouch for them! They’re beautiful and far superior to the junky factory ones. Here are some side by side comps.
