Without googling I’d say Spitfire and a complete blank[emoji849] Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
However anyone whom has read the book - which is superb - would know that the subject squadron of the book flew Hurricanes, not Spitfires. I remember being very unhappy indeed when the mini-series came out and was so rubbish compared to the book. Pretty much set me up for life in regards to refusing to watch any movie which was based on a book I’d read.

I just learnt something new.....The saying " Give em the whole 9 yards " came from the boys flying the Avenger during WW2... It had machine Gunn's and the belts that fed the guns were 9 yards long...
hmmm, there's a certain amount of urban myth to this expression. Avengers had 0.50 caliber guns, which have an 18ft belt. I've always understood that the 0.303 Brownings in Spitfires and Hurricanes had a 27ft belt.
Interesting...I was watching two old boys who still work on avengers and that's what they were saying....interesting how 27 feet would fit as it had a rear gunner and navigator in the belly...
I'm with you, sounds right, but then maths isn't my strong suit ............ 60mph equals 300 kph right ??
In HKG....We were supposed to be over there as well but they wouldn't give me my leave...Really short on crew at the moment...Will be back at the end of the month...
