Finished my Technomodel 275 GTB/C Speciale.
There are so many mistakes at this model, it had no sense to do a complete rebuild.
So, I only replaced the wheels and added exhausts at the rearside.

This is where I looked at:
    https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/MO12/Monterey/lots/r172-1967-ferrari-275-gtb4-competizione-speciale-by-carrozzeria-allegretti/280761

I know, this car is a replica, so is mine. ;)

I am not a fan of Tecnomodel, not at all, but..... in their defense..... they did not produce this to be a model of 9813, which is the sold car on the RM Sotheby's link you found. The model is of 6885 .... at another time in its life when it was painted red.

You are right Marshall, but it was not my intension to copy the 9813.
As I said, I looked at 9813, because I liked the chroomed wheels and the exhaust at the rear-end.
For the rest this is a fantasy-model.

Not a very good model of #6885. I am still hoping Hiro does this in 1/12th, but although Hiro is a lot better than Tecnomodel they make mistakes. The best model still is the Climax 1/24th kit made originally back in the 1990's. They nailed it.

OK, now I understand. The wheels are certainly an improvement.

Agreed on all, and yes, that Climax kit was great, and made up into a really great built piece.

I've been working on this 1:24 Fujimi 288 GTO for about three weeks now. I've added a few extra details, but most of it is box stock. Fujimi kits are fiddly to assmble but offer far greater detail than most... The engine assembly is almost 80 parts!

Of note: I hand paint everything (except for large areas like chassis or body) on my kits. I feel like it adds a personal level of detail that I can be proud of.

After cleaning, sanding and a lot of dry-fitting of the windowframes painting has began.

I am always using spraycans from Motip, so no 2K paints or airbrush.
After primer a few mistcoats and then a few wetcoats of red.

I let the paint dry for two weeks and in meanwhile I started with the interior

Painted everything black and used for the floor self-adhesive closhing from MFH and for the seats leather from MFH.

When the paint is dry, I sanded it very light and add some decals.
Now the body becomes a few layers of clear paint.

Again a few weeks drying time.
We go further with the interior,
Dash and the rest is finished.

Instead of the metal straps from the kit, I made my own straps for on the hood and for the spare-wheel.

Take a look at this really well done Ferrari 412P in 1/12th scale. Can hardly tell it's the Hiro kit. Maybe he used the Mini Delta P3 kit as a base for the closed model :) Kidding, but I bet the rivets came from Mini Delta??

Has anyone seen any work-in-progress threads anywhere on the web for Model Factory Hiro's 1:12 scale Ferrari 488 GTE? I'm aware of Frederick Suber's fabulous finished model but haven't seen any build threads.

Thanks. That's the one I was referring to - built by Frederick Suber.

Thanks. I almost mentioned Mike Chirivi and his use of Michael Trape's (of Modellbau Werkestatt Trape) super detail parts but I'm really looking for a build from an average guy mostly out of the box.
