While poorly finished and amateurish (why does the "ducktail spoiler" wrap around to have spoilers on the side of the rear fenders? They figured that extra drag with no downforce was a good idea?), it could be worse - the fenders could be fastened with bare screw heads like the ghastly Liberty Walk crap...
idiotic , I dont have to worry about my 328 being destroyed while im alive , and like an Egyptian sarcophagus inside a pyramid , I will be buried and sent to the Heavens in a 328 GTS Ferrari lol
It’s early but I think he referred to the 328 as a supercar? Guess that’s a positive, shows he knows his cars. ( Rolls eyes) “ Customization in restoration of the iconic 328” ah huh.. only plans on destroying 30 of these cars. Looks like some body shop had a couple quarts of Dupont gray primer/ sealer kicking around and shot it for free. “ Newsflash” That’s not meant as a topcoat people. Grand touring? Highly doubt this fine example would make it four city blocks without serious issue. Should change his name to Mitchell Putzman.
I'm sure this sentence made sense to the person that typed it. LOL CASIL MOTORS X BUTTON BUILT BB3X8 FUORILEGGE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Given all the "Mitchell Button" references on the website, I'd expect to get some sort of Google result for a famed car designer on the level of Singer, Foose, Kindig, etc. Yet the only notable person that comes up is a female ballet dancer who I'm guessing is either his wife, daughter, or sister. The website strikes me as one of those failed pitches on Shark Tank - mistaking "hopeful future sales" with "have actually sold product." They'll never make 30 of these cars.
I like the look of the wheels. I think they might look nice on my GT4; at least, better than coffin spokes. I sent them a message. It'll be interesting to see what they say. Then again, if the OP ever returns to his thread, maybe we'll learn something else...
I’m surprised none of you remember this car, he got it years ago cheap And was already a 288 replica, there was some online blurb from him getting it and blasting around town
I find it a pity, that the creator of this doesn't chime in and tries to convince us of the gloriousness of his creation. Wrong audience I assume. Best from Germany Martin
Well, I sent them a message myself a number of days ago and have yet to hear anything back.......not holding my breath
If you go back far enough into his instagram account, you see construction shots of the car back when it was red. https://www.instagram.com/button_built/
From his Instagram account. Should have left it alone. Four times the car it is now, even with the GTO kit Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am totally okay with Mr Button doing this to a bunch of 3x8's.... Mine is original and the value of a stock 328 will just go up with more of them taken out of stock status.
I totally agree. However there is this mindset that there are still 12,000 or however many of these cars produced world wide still on the roads and use this to combat the originality pricing. 3x8 is 30 years old in some cases . We lose a large amount of these yearly in accidents and at the hands of these “artist’s“. Whatever a potential owner pays will seem like a real bargain in five years. Purchased my Euro almost 8 years ago at what I considered high asking and I am ecstatic with my purchase decision today.
Good reminder. The very last 328 get qualified for 'Historic Vehicle'-registration this year over here, 30 years old, decent condition, original and you can get a 'H' on the number plate together with benefits in insurance and tax. But you won't get this with a messed up car like this we discuss here. Wrong wheels, which are not contemporary are sufficient for rejection. Best from Germany Martin
I beg to differ, and there are countless threads on the subject here on Fchat. I also respect your opinion.
Ferrari recognise the Dino series as being a major part of their illustrious history, and as being one of their own cars: https://auto.ferrari.com/en_EN/sports-cars-models/past-models/dino-196-s/ https://auto.ferrari.com/en_EN/sports-cars-models/past-models/dino-296-s/ https://auto.ferrari.com/en_EN/sports-cars-models/past-models/dino-246-s/ https://auto.ferrari.com/en_EN/sports-cars-models/past-models/dino-206-s/ https://auto.ferrari.com/en_EN/sports-cars-models/past-models/dino-206-sp/ https://auto.ferrari.com/en_EN/sports-cars-models/past-models/dino-166p/ https://auto.ferrari.com/en_US/sports-cars-models/past-models/dino-206-gt/ https://auto.ferrari.com/en_EN/sports-cars-models/past-models/dino-246-gt/ https://auto.ferrari.com/en_US/sports-cars-models/past-models/dino-308-gt4/ https://auto.ferrari.com/en_EN/sports-cars-models/past-models/dino-208-gt4/ As shown above, some Dino's even wore Ferrari nose badges! I'd take Ferrari's acceptance of the Dino series being a legitimate Ferrari car above a badge-snob's denial, any day of the week! As for the car in question in this thread: Somehow, they've managed to make a genuine Ferrari look more like a kit-car, than Mera, or a home built 308/328 kitcar! Fchat does not include a "puking" smilie - Pity, because I would have used one for the grey monstrosity! (Funnily enough though, in it's red fauxrrari 288 GTO guise, it was still okay as far as I'm concerned )
My own GTB, #81085, got 30 years old on this April 5th, which was last Friday. I wasn't with the car, was flying back from a business trip, but had a thought for her nevertheless... (April 5th, 1989, is her "construction date", according to the factory. First registration date is May 17th, 1989) Rgds
Well, (and I love to write this...) legally, this is not true. A "Dino" is not a Ferrari, period. The very last batch of Right Hand Drive 308GT4s, sent to the U.K, received a full 17 digit VIN, which started by ZDF, meaning "Dino", built in Maranello. Ferraris with a full 17 digit VIN have all a VIN starting with "ZFF". This mean that, from the legal perspective of the international registration of automobile brands, a "Dino" would be a Ferrari if it has a VIN starting by "ZFF". Which it does not. (Of course, this is written very tongue-in-cheek, just as food for thought...) Rgds
Hi Bruno, are there similar benefits for 'Historic Vehicles' in France? Like for instance our flat rate tax of € 192.00/year no matter how much displacement. Or special 'historic vehicle'-insurances? I pay €400.00/year incl. comprehensive cover and a small deductible. Best Regards Martin
