Did Ferrari solve the steering issue with the early Portofino builds; off center the steering has a 'dead spot' there?

I'd say F40 because Ferr gave us two hints about that:
    1) "What legendary car you would like to see reborn in the future? Tell me your top 40"

He could have said Top 5 or Top 10, but chose "40" as a reference to the F40.

    2) "Special Series for this car [BB]? Ferrari has prepared something different this time"

#2 makes me think that Ferrari will build a V8 "Icona" model on the Big Brother platform and not the usual "Speciale" version. The potential rebirth of the F40 fits in.

That would be an amazing turn around after not offering such a 12 cylinder production model for two decades. The V12 LaFerrari was done to prove a point but not really something many customers could obtain especially in the second open version.

I struggle to see a real Testarossa revival except as an Icona or at least a limited special edition model. Last year Ferrari said they want to go for two pillar mid-engined production range. With the BB and LB we already have two separate product lines.

Thanks once again Ferr. So as predicted in my post 633 and shown here with the yellow arrow.

Now, what can you tell us about the area indicated by the red arrows - is this the trailing edge of the roofline or some appendage that wraps around and along the sail panels?

Strange styling language that exaggerated the cockpit size and minimizes the hips... let’s hope it’s good. :/

Haha - you have a good memory (and good search skills)!

Not many people seemed too interested in my comment at the time. That kind of amused me

I think it's more about exaggerating the hips without lowering the window opening too much as for example in the 330 P4, which of course is a low slung race car. I imagine this car as being inspired by the 330 series especially if it has the sail panels.

Also, the horizontal crease in the door leading into the hips is similar to what is done on the 488/F8 and the J50 so you can gauge its effect on those cars.

Absolutely. V6 + V8 + V12 all in one segment (MR) would be too much.

    Thanks.

I can’t think an Icona F40 would have anything to do with hybrid. More likely a lightweight turbo V8 based on the BB platform without the electricity - and big turbos with no ‘torque management’ as per 488.

Unless you can simulate a sudden spike in power/torque via the hybrid system, programming it to "wake up" above 4000rpm with a specific Manettino setting (wild idea, I don't know if it's actually doable or not).

I believe that Icona cars have to be based on production models, so I wouldn't expect them to be technologically less advanced / simpler than other current Ferraris.

Agreed. If a modern F40 tribute actually comes, I expect it to be based on the BB, hybrid system included. Leiters already said they can't get more power out of the current V8 engines (without sacrificing responsiveness), so if you want more power it needs to be hybrid. Of course whatever comes next will follow the same formula: less weight, more power and possibly the return of wings on road cars (as a tribute to one of the most iconic wing of all time).

This seems right to me. BB is designed to incorporate the hybrid system, so deleting it might cause as many problems as it could solve. Besides, I remember when the F40 came out, and the turbos were controversial for some, but needed to make it such a performer. Same goes for the hybrid system; some will not be thrilled by it, but any proper tribute to the F40 will have to be a great performance car.
