so BB won't have a carbon tub and will only be a targa. Wonder how they will achieve the needed rigidity for a 1000hp sportiest top of the range ?
I’m sure there is headroom in the Pista engine (McLaren extracted 800hp from the base 720 motor for the Senna). I think it ultimately depends on what their objectives are for the F40. Does it need to accelerate faster than the hybrid BB or do other things better? Drop 200 electric hp and a few hundred kg from BB, add massive aero and I believe it would not be seen as any less of a car than a 1,300 hp LaFerrari 2.0.
Part of that comes from the fact that the 911 has far less power, and can't light 'em up nearly as easily as a V12.
not in Monaco Gp not in Villa D´Este not in Terra di motori Festival. where? special event only for this car?
Ferrari filed a new targa top design in 2018. So the BB might get a targa option, and so can the upcoming V6. The new targa design seems to be an innovative and aero friendly solution, but not something overengineered stuff like Porsche did to the their Targa. Just a simple piece/pieces you lift off and store in your garage or behind the seats. Just the way we like it! I also think it's possible to get more power out of it, but this is what Leiters said: "We have a certain manoeuvre to measure turbo lag,” Leiters says. “Going along in third gear at 2,000rpm, we hit full throttle and measure when we have 80 to 90 per cent of full torque. If it’s not achieved in less than a second, it fails. As we’re at that limit, we will have to think of electrification of this powertrain in order to increase the power output in the future" So 720hp seems to be the current limit for the 3.9L V8 and going hybrid, for them, is the only option to keep that N/A feeling in a turbocharged engine. Unless they want to make it unresponsive on purpose, but that's even less likely in my opinion.
That is pretty nest so there won't be any air buffeting in the cabin It'll get take away by those inlets behind the seats - Nice
The spotted test mule should be a targa but there could be a coupé version. As Ingegnere pointed out, maybe Ferrari was testing it with an open body to see how it performs in terms of chassis rigidity.
Don't like certain elements of the J50 either, especially the Portofino type skirts behind the front wheels and the sail panels. If you don't like the J50, I don't think you'll like the BB
I wonder the same, Targa body, electric motors, track performance, weight,.... It’s a difficult equation. Can’t wait to see her
What I don’t get, just like Bigfoot videos, is why not linger there and get some quality video for a minute? Why pass the car and drive on? Jeez.
