So we have to thank Pininfarina for spoiling Ferrari's show before Ferrari revealed BB, hah Anyway, I'd like to see true "Ferrari" character in this car - a desire for dynamics, speed, power and beauty. As for now - thumbs up!
could you please tell us your opinion about the design. Or what was your initial expression after seeing the car...? 1. Meh.. A disappointment... 2. Mamma mia.. What a beauty.. 3. Its ok.. I can live with it.. :|
Agreed. I think flavio is super talented. I’m not sure what he’s trying to do with that J50 door. It’s like, If you want to do a treatment that’s very bold and different then make it the centerpiece of the design and let the rest of the design compliment and showcase it. Sometimes I think he tries to do too much on a car and It gets cluttered....812.
Agreed. Starting with a big, heavy car like the tdf with added rws and giant front tyres to compensate results in an unstable car which is hard to drive without the electronic nannies. Not the way forward if you want a true driver's car. i.e. a thoroughbred rather than a bucking bronco in equestrian parlance.
Have you driven a Tdf Barry? It's not unstable, and it's not hard to drive at all.... If you have driven a Tdf, could you please elaborate on your driving experience, and share with us what exactly brought you to these conclusions? Thanks in advance. By the way, here is a video of a Tdf being driven without the electronic nannies... Even throwing out the rear end in a Powerslide. Doesn't look hard to drive... At least not in the hands of a SKILLED DRIVER, which of course Ferrari themselves indicated as the target market for the Tdf: https://www.instagram.com/p/BouOUlqim-A/
Yes, I posted my impressions in the F12 TDF Drive Dynamic thread about 6 months ago. Back on the BB, I guess the question is how the weight of the hybrid will be managed it is is "more hybrid" than the relatively light LaFerrari style system. The extra power can go only so far to address the weight which will have a bearing on the driving experience.
Pesonnaly; it s not my taste; and i would say number 3. For me, it s a design language too far from Ferrari history design codes...it s modern and coherent and it rules, but not iconic I prefer the P 80 , so much impressive
Pininfarina battista is a very beautiful car , But I can understand perfectly your point . P80 is gorgeous IMO and Manzoni team very smart ! ( as you understood perfectly, I just don't like open top cars ..)
Maybe this new category is for futuristic design and technology and icona category is for historical design and engine
Not sure about the driving experience, but It outperforms the LaF, so the power-to-weight ratio should still be pretty good and we can assume the same for its handling capabilities.
I doubt it outperforms LF. What BarryK means by unstable car seems certainly not undrivable car but rather a car which is hard to exploit easily with nannies off and I agree. Also I don’t think this unstable characteristics are bad thing at all. I think it is the greatest trait of all in tdf. You have to be really smooth and gentle with input. Car reacts and shows you what you just did, however small the input was, in drive dynamics pretty clearly, and for this, it is more ‘pure’ than most cars. I had that moment once and I know the tire and nannies saved that day. Ps. Still not sure about bucking bronco comment. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
