I used the Braille AGM it saves a bunch of weight vs. Normal lead boat anchor batteries, and is made for racing so hard driving/cornering is zero concern.
If we look at the other side: 1. It will outlive a standard battery by at least 3 times = the price comes down to about $500 2. It cranks the engine very easily and at something like 30% higher cranking speed = much smaller chance of embarrassment when your Ferrari cannot start; worth about $100 so $400 3. It is very light so, if your battery is at the back, improves weight distribution (not to mention the fuel saving when accelerating a lighter car); worth $100 so $300 4. and most importantly: you can tell people that you have a lithium battery! Priceless, so the battery comes free.
I put in an Optima in two years ago and haven't had any problems! Works great, but I do connect the car to a battery charger when not in use.
My last Sears Die Hard lasted 14 years in my 308. I have a NAPA batter in my Toyota truck that going on 10 years, The battery in my 355 is going on 7 since I've owned it and I have no idea how old it was when I bought the car, but it wasn't new. No need to spend more than $150 on a battery.
That's my plan as well. However, location (geography), extreme temps and vehicle types are factors for battery longevity. For example, my wife's old Escalade (2006) and first SRX (2014) ate through batteries like their was no tomorrow (well, every two years at least). The 3.2 Mondial and and 348 ts I owned loved the Duracell's from Sam's Club. Those batteries held their charge and never left me hanging. Granted, I did use a CTEK charger/conditioner for longer periods between driving. Also, Sam's has a free replacement policy if needed, with no pro-rating. They tell you, "In Florida, you're lucky if you get three years life from a battery."
Wel ,thank to all of you for responding and share your opinion ,but I had to go this rout, the previus diehard battery lasted 20 years. it was hard for me to pass on it. the best part is,$184.00 Image Unavailable, Please Login
