Need some help deciding on an F430. Both are in extremely nice condition and have been well cared for. Both in Rosso Corsa exterior. Here are the details

    2005 Ferrari F430
    Mileage - 13k
    Price $100k
    Clutch Life Remaining - 80%
    Previous Owners - 2
Comments - All service records from Day 1, all tools and books and both keys. Black interior. Recent service completed. Headers recently replaced by Ferrari.

    2007 Ferrari F430
    Mileage - 21k
    Price $105k
    Clutch Life Remaining - 92%
    Previous Owners - 8
Comments - Ferrari CPO (2 Yeat Warranty). All service records from Day 1, all tools and books and both keys. Tan Interior. All 4 rear tail lights recently replaced by Ferrari. Little concerned about 8 previous owners.

    Thoughts?

Hard to pass up a two year Ferrari CPO warranty - all other things being equal. 8 owners does seem a tad excessive but if the PPI is good, that's probably the one I'd go for. Because warranty!

I’ll second NYFAIM. $5k for a newer F430 with longer clutch life and 2 year CPO is really good. If they offered the first one for $95k I’d go that route instead.

Either way it's nice to be in a situation of having to decide which Ferrari.
I know for resale everyone looks at how many owners but I don't really think a one owner car is better than 8 owner car, there is no guarantee that that one owner took car of the car any better than each of the 8 owners, I know when ppl buy a car they are excited and are more inclined to go through the car. Anyways, you don't mention the options that is what I look at to compare cars, like CCB, challenge grill, carbon options, PPF? I personally like black interior > tan. Although newer year is a plus, hard to pass on 2year warrenty. You can't go wrong either way, go with what your heart tell you. Then enjoy!

Does the 8k mile difference matter much?

The black interior is the trump card and will always look better.

I am leaning toward the 2005, however the 2007 is enticing because it is two years newer and has the two year warranty. I truly am stuck on this decision

Not really. I would just check the brake condition difference. Age may be more of a factor but both its still really close. I don't know the warranty situation but that sounds pretty good. Could save a lot of money, could be nothing.

8 owners? Doesn't bother me if the service is there. A bit weird but really not a big deal. You're buying the condition of the car now. If 4 owners drove it for 1000 miles so what?

Both sound pretty good. Some of this comes down to personal taste.

    I would choose the 2007..
No charge for the factory improvements throughout the years.
8 previous owners would not bother me has this is not uncommon with these Fcars.
Long term I think it would have better resale value..just my humble opinion
Best of luck with your purchase

I have an '07 that had 7 previous owners per the Carfax. However double check, as it turns out a few dealers had titled my car. Anyways, after sorting out some initial issues, it has been a solid car. Good luck with your search.

And all seriousness, the 2007 is newer and it is CPOd. Weather eight owners or 10 , it’s likely not going to be an issue, as they would not likely warranty it with any problems on it. Plus, to me, the red car with the black interior is odd. . A red Ferrari with Tan is classy. I say go for it

Having recently purchased an F430 without a warranty...get the one with a warranty!!!! plus 2005 was first year, F1 and other changes were made after that. But both sound very nice.

07 is my choice as long as you've looked at it in person and received a passing PPI.

Even with a warranty, I'd get it checked out for things not covered, like paint condition, leather, etc.

I would pass on both and look for 2008 or 2009. I own 2007 and super happy but there are changes in 2008 over 2007.

Curious what you think is significant enough in the ‘08-09 changes to wait for one? Newer is usually better but aside from standard carbon brakes I haven’t seen many big upgrades listed. Always trying to learn more!

Stupid question here....how does one determine when their car was built? I would love to know when mine ('07, F430 Spider) was built, as I phreaking love this car, and it would be nice to know if I have the upgrades. Thanks
