    Hi Mike.
Sorry to say it makes it louder.

The 812 is not too loud in standard from after the first 10 seconds or so from start up, then the valves close automatically. So it loud to start with, but goes a lot quieter after the first 5-10 seconds.
As far as know there is nothing you can do about that.

Which brand exhaust valve controller did you install?

Are you happy with it so far?

Yes dealer supply and install, they have to take the back bumper off to wire it in, it takes about 2 hours labor.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I got the Capristo remote installed on the 812 and it doesn’t seem to make nearly as much of a difference as it did on the 458. For anyone that has it, does it do much to your exhaust?

This is a video link to mine from 5 mins in. Adam
Check your remote is not set to factory default as mine was a few days ago, even pressing the sport button was not making it work.
If you are standing at the back with the engine running you should hear the exhaust note change and you can just hear the flaps open

Thanks. I saw the video after I replied to the thread. I’ll check again today, but I believe yours is changing a lot more than mine. From inside the car, I can barely tell. There is a change, but it’s very subtle. Yours was back to factory default? In what respect? Do you have a video from inside the cabin as well? I appreciate it!

I just listened to the exhaust from the back of the car, and it’s a very noticeable change with the valves open and closed. Inside the car it is very much less noticeable. I guess it’s the refinement of the car and the sound deadening material.

Well that plan did not go too well. What a time to try to sell a car! The local dealer collected it last Wednesday to sell it on sale or return, I got a phone call on Monday evening that they were shutting down on Tuesday, the collection company backed out as well, so myself and my wife drove the 80 miles to the garage to bring it home. Well at least I got a nice drive back with fairly quite roads.
Here are a few more pics I took this morning after washing the car last night. https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/ferrari/superfast/ferrari-812-superfast-amazing-colour-racing-wheels-full-ppf-exhaust-valve-opener/10474836

    Why sell the 812?
Any comparisons from the 812 to the F12?

I was selling the 812 to buy the GTS, but my dealer did not want it at the time as they had 3 to sell and had been trying to sell their demo car from over a year, but after I sold it they told me they would have taken it in part exchange, but what they would have offered would have been anyone's guess. I think a lot of it was mis communication due to Covid lock downs and not being able to speak to my normal dealer.

Well the gear changes were instant on the 812 and are just a bit slower on the F12, what I don't miss is the 812 nervousness, when going slowly on country roads it was very hard to keep in a straight line and wandered all over the place, the F12 is nowhere near as bad but I do have Michelin tyres on it. Also the bumpy mode ride quality is far better in the F12, in the 812 it was hard to tell any difference with it on.
When I got back into the F12 after owning one in 2016 it was like putting on an old shoe and I felt very at home.
The high pitched wail of the Capristo rear box's and X pipe with the valves open in the F12 is amazing. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Overall the F12 is a great machine. :)

Very interesting details about your experiences with the 812 there! Which red is the F12 now? Rosso Portofino paint on the Portofino?

    Thanks Roma and Charles.

Yes F12 is Rosso Mugello which looks burgundy in dull light. And you are correct the Portofino is Rosso Portofino With black metallic roof.
