I have an 08 430 and at some point in the past, the windshield was replaced. When going over bumps the windshield rattles as if its loose in the frame. Do y'all think it can be removed and re-glued without damaging the glass or the rubber gasket?

The windshield will have to be cut out, cleaned off and reinstalled. They might be able to save the glass but not the gasket. If it rattles, it may not be completely bonded in place. Can you hear air leaks when driving? You can also blow compressed air from the inside around the edge of the glass and spray soapy water on the outside to find leaks.

Thanks for chiming in. I don’t think I hear wind blowing thru but I’ll pay attention. It definitely rattles on bumpy roads.
The gasket may be an issue, not sure it’s available.

    Thanks again!

Like motob said, you need to cut out the old seal. You take a special cable, push it through the seal, attach a T-handle to each end, then you and a friend each alternately pull to saw the seal (like a 2-man saw).

I never did a 430 but the cars I did used a seal rope that looked like caulk. The primary function was not to seal but rather to retain the windshield in the even of a forward impact. So it has to be exactly made for windshields.

I’ve had a windshield reseated, new gasket/rubbers but the windshield was reused.

Had a P car also that required the same thing. A lesser quality installer did the job (I didn’t choose them the P dealer did). They hadn’t placed the new windscreen against a tab guide. Once redone it was fine.

That’s good news. I’m gonna see who I can find locally that knows what they are doing.

I wonder what part(s) I will need if I can find someone to do the work
