I was not a fan of Senna the driver but i liked Senna the man. :)

That being said...... I'm still convinced that he did not make a mistake on Imola and that it was a Williams design failure; and that the Williams team had to DIG DEEP in order for the criminal proceedings to be ruled in their Favor.

Always amusing to see the LH44-fanboys creating their own reality to keep the bubble intact they are living in...
Although I still not know what Schumacher has to do with a comparison Lewis-Ayrton.... Poor Lewis fighting with the bad 2009 McLaren whereas Michael always having a WCC contender....lol, seriously??? OK, maybe when you knowledge of that era is restricted to read articles on Wikipedia

Please stop directing this toward Ham fans, we piggy back on what F1 drivers say (see thread title), they create it. We don't create anything. If you mad about F1 drivers rating Ham as a great then attack them

Senna was too impatient....he got on it right away...when his tires were cold after a long safety car. That lowered the ride height and he bottomed out several times, which is probably what caused the mechanical failure. After that it was a little bad luck that put of piece of metal into his head.

Unhinged ranting? Is that what you call it when people pick out the faults in the flawed reasonings of Elton’s fans? Cool, always suspected it was something like that. Forza Ferrari

No, this is directing to you because you came up with the comparison of the 2009 McLaren and the cars of Schumacher to create an argument! As said, Berger just has an opinion, no more no less...

Yet another useless argument about differences of opinions.

I agree, but there are more than just two Elton cheerleaders who go nuts whenever he is praised in the smallest way, I can count at least six of them straight off. I won’t name them as of course they would moan and try to get me banned for pointing out their shortcomings

In one point you are right: we are a minority... but not a minority who thinks that this worshipping is hilarious but a minority that does not have you on ignore yet.
As you are unable to stay at the point anyway (Schumacher, Vettel...) it might be time to join the majority...

When I think of Senna and Schumacher, I see the rest of the grid looking up to them and setting them apart. They were admired universally, with the rare driver claiming they weren’t that great but never being able to prove it. The same is not true of any driver on the grid today. None of them stand head and shoulders above the competition in the same way - and that includes Hamilton.

What sets Hamilton apart is that he has been able to stay at the top of the sport for such a long period of time. That’s quite an achievement but probably more luck than judgement.

I wouldn't say from the outset...Berger went to McLaren with every intention of taking the fight to Ayrton. Both in the winter of 89-90 and then again in 90-91, Ayrton had sequestered himself in Brazil after the controversial championship deciders, and Berger saw this as an opening. He would outwork Senna. Particularly going into the '91 season, even after a year alongside Senna, he had doubled down on his mental and physical fitness training and did virtually all the testing. By round 1 he had fully convinced himself he would have the edge. When he got blown off by Ayrton (who had very minimal testing miles in the Mp4/6) at Phoenix by over 2 seconds, he was supposedly deeply shattered. I think that was really when he began to concede he was likely trying to win an impossible battle...

I think that they had a positive relationship throughout was more a question of them being complimentary in character - and probably the fact that Ayrton never saw him as a true threat (as opposed to Berger simply accepting from the start that Ayrton was #1)

I agree. Like Pele and Maradona.

You can have all the Romarios, and Ronaldinhos, and the Messi...but those two will always be at the top.
