So this morning i went to the dealer for the configuration of the car. I did it. Chose color, wheels, add some carbon, apple play, passenger display and other stuff. I arrived to 300k euros. I've the contract with me but still not signed. I'm still not in love with it and there's a voice in me saying: don't buy it. Inside the dealer i saw an 812 and an F12 and they made my heart beat faster..... Guess my next mistake will be a 12 cylinders.
Although I always been a rear/mid engine guy, and never believed I could get the same experience from a front engine design, I was very surprised with the performance of the F12 at one of the Corso Pilota events I participated in, so I would expect the 812 to be even better. You can't go wrong either way, IMO. Jim
Try the 812! You've covered the mid-engines 458, 488, Huracan and Performante. Maybe it's time for a different type of vehicle ownership experience.
Funny how that voice seems to control us! Of the two V12s, the 812 will rapidly lose value and is somewhat hideous by comparison to the PF F12.
As a matter of fact I prefer by far the front of the F12. The back of 812 is better. If i think to the value F12 is a better choice
I am wary of the long nose and larger size of the F12/812 but with time it seems to not be an issue. I love how close I can get the nose of my Huracan to parking blocks, walls, other cars. I fear I would miss the forward seat positioning which makes parking and navigating narrow spaces easy.
I typically back into parking spaces so the 812 is an easier park than the 488! Hahaha!! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Principissimo: The one detail the dealer could not provide was the size of the width of the rear tires,...I am assuming al la 488. Chime in if they provided you with more info.
Having owned 458 and now a 488 spider, I can't agree more, my 458 was love instantly my 488 spider I had too spend time in and with, she grew on me very strongly now. Too where I think it is beautiful and actually may make 458 appear a bit dated. The f8 tributo doesn't speak Ferrari too me from the front. The rear is pretty sexy with the quad break lights, which I loved about My F430. And the lexan rear engine bay will be interesting. Anyways, I agree with you.
I just purchased a gt3 rs and it’s a superb car. Still breaking in the engine so I have yet to get it past 5,000 rpms
Me too (and 812's side profile). If your heart doesn't say YES! to the F8, then listen to it and don't buy it. On the other hand, the 812 would be a wonderful jump into the V12 world.
Same here. Picked up a 19' GT3 manual. I only have ~300 miles on it but dang I love driving this thing.
I had a good look at the Tributo as my wife and I walked into the Atelier studio to spec 'our' Pista last week. It was my last chance to decide whether to cancel the Pista and order the F8 instead. It is visually more dramatic than the 488, and in Blu Corsa the lines showed up nicely. But the Pista visually (and technically) really does get my heart racing whereas the F8, as good as it is, did not quite do that for me, so we happily proceeded to spec and lock in the Pista. The Pista will happily complement the 812, Speciale Aperta and TDF in my garage - all quite different to each other but all elicit the same passion for getting behind the wheel regardless of how many times I drive them. That is crucial when spending this much coin. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
