This is my drama. Going with the gray wheels, red calipers, full exterior CF, Nero interior with Rosso accents. The Stripe I’m thinking about is the Argento Nurburgring. So thoughts on what Rosso for the exterior ? I’m not willing do the $28K paints like Fuoco. But something in the $12.5K group. Rosso Corsa Metallic? Enough of a difference? Rosso Corsa Portofino? Is this a weird / dumb choice for a Pista as it was the launch color for the Portofino? Or just stick with Rosso Corsa? Thanks in advance!
I just compared RC w RC metallic and was not overwhelmed w the metallic. To my eye, was not worth the spend but of course it is subjective. Perhaps an owner will chime in differently. I think it’s do the 3-layer or stay bass. Agree w SoCal, may be better to spend the money elsewhere
That is the fall back for sure, but I have had a Rosso Corsa car for maybe the last 5 years. Just thinking about breaking our, a bit.
You can’t see the 28k paint job when your driving your car RC with all the carbon options looks sensational
Mine is RC Grigio Corsa Wheels Red calipers Full exterior CF Nero interior with Rosso accents Argento Nürburgring Stripe
Rosso Portofino is a great color but Ferrari has had issues with that color leading to unbelievable delays. Several F chat members tired of the delays to their Portofino have had to switch from RP to other colors Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Very nice After having enjoyed it, anything specific you would recommend for future specs or would modify for yourself? Stock or upgraded radio, impressions? Sorry to OP for the threadjack
No regret ! I love my spec ! Stock radio sounds great compared to radio of my Speciale I had JBL on my 2013 Italia upgraded radio is not essential
‘Free’ reds - Corsa, Scuderia (lighter red per the F1 team), Mugello (darker flat red). ‘Cheap’ reds (around £8k) Fiorano (metallic deep red a little like Rossi Maranello but not three layer as far as I am aware), 70th Anni, (an unusual flat red and a very good option, it has a coloured lacquer layer which allows it to change colour in various lights - darker with less light like Mugello, lighter with more light like Corsa - but is still a flat colour). I’m not sure of the cost of 70th Anni but I think it is in the band less than the three-layer paints so maybe £8k? That would be my choice given what you have said. Or Scuderia if you want a different red with no cost. I had Maranello on my Speciale and did not spec the front and rear carbon. I have never regretted that decision and the car looks sensational. Even though I don’t see the paint from the driver’s seat, I know it’s there. And I know it’s beautiful - much prettier than scratched carbon!
Go big or go home on a Pista . Rosso Maranello and your eyes will pop out of your head. Yes its $32K but if your keeping the car its less than 10% of the cost (maybe just 5%) for the most visible part of the car and it will stand out if you decide to sell. Same advice for any new Ferrari over $500K.
I’d go with a slightly darker red like barchetta, maranello, or fiorano. Rosso corsa seems like a color to find spec’ed on a lot and not a custom order. Gorgeous car. Robb
Your Pista is going to come out in at ~$450K, right? You’re willing to spend $12.5K on paint but not another $15K for a blow-it-out gorgeous dream color on your limited series exotic masterpiece? Color does matter...every time you stare at that beauty, day or night, sunshine or garage. And possibly for years of prideful ownership. Additional ~3% cost....you’re paying more in taxes.... Just sayin’
In a good way you guys are making this harder! Worst I have a weekend to think about this. The one thing I do not want to do is to go with a Rosso that is too maroon. The only other Rosso’s I have seen in person are Scuderia and Fuoco. Scuderia is too yellow. Fuoco looks great but expensive. I’m looking for more of a pop than regular RC something more in the cherry red end. So in my mind, until this thread, excluding RC and Fuoco. I was thinking: 1. RC Metallic 2. Rosso Portofino What are your comparisons of those four? I would appreciate if you baseline to RC or Fuoco the two color I understand the best Not sure about Fiorano or Maranello And on some level I have a love / hate relationship with italifan’s comment. I love it, but not my wife she is a bit bent out of shape over $30K for paint. You guys are the best.
